Your problem is not new to me. I got friends during highschool days who's having that kind of dilemma. Right now, lets just say they pass the so called "phase" while some have'nt but they are happy.

trying to hate urself or trying to hate lesbians will not help solve ur problem...Well, you might just undergone a phase in your life wherein you are fond of this particular person and in your case its a girl friend. Just don't be to hard on yourself with regard to this. And i agree wid 8sme talk to your friend and for sure she'll understand but just be ready with her response.
