Just been to Hongkong yesterday.. Here's a tip on going to DISNEYLAND.
You either have the option of including it in you package tour... You will be staying at the Disneyland Hollywood Hotel... However it is FAR MORE BETTER if you don't include it in your package and go there on your own so that you can really experience riding the Star Ferry going to Central, buying the tickets and riding the MTR to Disneyland!
1.) You can buy the tickets at DISNEYLAND TICKETING CENTER at Hongkong Central Station (Tung Chung Line).. HK$295 for off-peak (weekdays except holiday) and HK$ 350 during peak (weekends, holidays, summer vacations)
2.) At the ticketing station, you can also buy the one way MTR Ticket for HK$26.. But I recommend buying the unlimited one day pass (to/from Disneyland to any MTR Station) for only HK$50.
-----> From Central, the MTR goes to Sunny Bay in Lantau Island... From Sunny Bay, you transfer to another train that is exclusively for DISNEYLAND RESORT..
3.) The ticketing station at the MTR opens at 9 am.. Disneyland Resort opens at 10am....
4.) Disneyland is not so big as compared with the ones in States.. It took me only 4 hours to complete all the rides.. It will take you one day though if you wish to witness the parade (afternoon), go to the shops, eat lunch, witness the fireworks display (evening), ride the Disney trains (circumferential), taxis (vintage cars), and other attractions...
5.) Food is NOT A PROBLEM.... Mineral water goes for HK$10... Lunch averages HK$35 (double cheeseburger with a bowl of french fries)
Ill be POSTING some pics tomorrow....
Here are some pictures that I took two days ago.. Although there are some tour packages that include the HK Disneyland in the itinerary (includes one night stay at Disney's Hollywood Hotel), I still recommend that tourists go there on their own so as to experience the adventure of buying the tickets, riding the trains and walking to the resort..
Reminder: CANNED Beverages are not allowed inside the resort. For security reasons maybe. Baggages will be checked at the entrance gate. There was this visitor who had to literally throw in the garbage can five (5) cans of Sprite just to be admitted.
1.) If you are staying in Kowloon, ride the star ferry and go to the Hongkong Station, which can just be found beneath the Two International Finance Center -- the tallest building in Hongkong at 88 storeys. Fare is just HK$1.50

2.) At the Hongkong Station, one can find the Disneyland Ticketing Office. The ticket for adults is HK$295 off-peak (weekdays except holiday) or HK$350 peak (weekends, vacations, holidays).... Aside from the ticket, an additional HK$50 will also entitle one to a One Day Unlimited Pass (to/from Disneyland to any MTR Station).... The ticketing office opens at 9 AM.
Children (3-11 yrs) ---> HK$210 (off-peak); HK$250 (peak)

3.) At the Hongkong Station, ride the TUNG CHUNG LINE going to Sunny Bay in Lantau Island. Once in Sunny bay, transfer to the Disneyland Resort Line -- an MTR built exclusively for the resort. The train is characterized by its "Mickey mouse shaped" windows.. This is Hongkong Disneyland's very own version of Hogwarts Express.

4.) Hongkong Disneyland opens at 10 AM... There are not so many people during opening time but it will swell as the day goes by..

This vintage style double decked car will take you to the streets of the resort (up to the Castle area)

This train will "TOUR" you around the resort... This should be the first thing to do before going to the rides so that you will become familiar with the place..

The background pretty much reminds me of Harry Potter's Hogwarts.

One of the few FILIPINO performers (except the one in the middle) in the resort.

There is no problem with food since shops and restaurants are scattered in the resort. Mineral water goes for HK$10. Lunch averages at HK$35 (double cheeseburger with a bowl of frenchfries, grabe makabusog!)

Hongkong Disneyland holds the distinction of being the ONLY disneyland in the world patterned after the original one drafted by Walter Disney.. Thus one can find the resort small compared to the ones in the States... However, according to the info I got, they will soon expand and increase their rides...
As of now, there are only four theme sites -- Adventure Land, Fantasy Land, Tomorrow Land, and Main Street USA....
Aside from the theme park itself, the resort also has a very large man made lake with a golf course, two hotels, parks and lagoons, etc..etc.. The BACKDROP of the resort are the very beautiful mountains of Lantau Island -- standing behind the "Disney" castle will really remind one of HOGWARTS in Harry Potter not to mention that the resort itself has its very own "hogwarts express.."
The entire resort itself was actually built on reclaimed land at a bay.
