    Academic background is really a big plus.
    At least you got records to prove what you're made of.

    But naa pud instance nga ok ra dli graduate.
    Ako cousin kay programmer na cya daan before ni eskwela ug IT, pang diploma nalang to nya.
    Then na hire cya while still studying, dako pa iya sweldo and position
    compared sa mga college graduate niya nga kauban.
    Wla japon cya ron kahuman skwela kay dihang graduating na
    gipadala sa gawas sa ila company.hehehe
    Niuli humana ang graduation.

    well, it remain irrelevant if a person who holds that certification had stop practicing it 3 years ago. his/her sharpness may not be the same at this time but he/she still had the advantage over the most documented and less talented applicant.

    I only used certifications as a tie-breaker between two very equal candidates. Otherwise, i never gave certifications much weight.

    both... ? a someone who is jack of all trade and master of all? wag lang yung master of none. hehehehe...actually they hire someone who have long years of experience who worked before, similar to the product they are working currently. no unless cguro kung magpatraining sila.
