pretty simple. you'll gone (physical existence) from the face of the earth.

what is the purpose of life?

this is the question we've heard a thousand times. answered a million times. for me, i'll just take a ride. who knows really?

do you still believe in God? if so, Who is God? if no, why?

non-believer of any religion doesn't mean they don't believe in God. e.g. hare-krishna, yogis, etc..
no one can really say or can pinpoint accurately who God is. I know there's big guy up there. your srealization will lead you to believe
that the "God" you believed is the right "God" -- like others. it's so complex to prove and disproved that the process will turn to infinite loop, why bother. let's just take a ride.

how do you decide what is and what is not good to you or to others?

we have law of the land. you steal, if got caught either you'll be thrown in jail or shot dead by the person you're stealing from.
we have like million laws, rules and regulations, city ordinances ... etc. and it evolves as time goes.

do you have principles in life? if so, what?

help others, as long as you can, as much as you can, wherever as you can.

if a person like you, does not also believe any religion, and lives based on freewill
but then kills you or harms your loved one,
    what will you do?

we have laws .. i'll find a lawyer, bring that sob to court, and see. or if i caught him stealing from my property and within the boundary set by laws, that 12 gauge shotgun is what for -- blast his head off.

just really curious...hope people can answer with sincerity
my goal is to probe into the mind of a person who has no spiritual belief
and know where he/she is coming from... in other words, I would like to understand
dont worry I dont judge people just because they have different beliefs from mine

-- that's dangerous and false assumptions that people who are non-believer of certain religion has no spiritual belief.

    RELIGION != SPIRITUALITY
    Namaste!
Pax! I didnt mean to offend you
The way I read your first post implied that you do not believe in life after death
Thus I deduced that you meant that you do not believe the spiritual aspect of man
Of course a person doesnt have a religion doesnt mean that he or she is not spiritual
I am basing only from your first post.

and from your last post, mas nare-affirm that you really do not believe in the spiritual aspect of man
lest you wouldnt think that when you die it's the end of it

anyway, as ive said im posting the questions out of curiosity...
not meaning to judge nor impose any belief

so my follow-up question to you...
if you do not believe in the spirit of man because when a man dies, he/she is gone na.
and you adhere more to the laws of earth rather than the laws of spirit
how can you say that there is a God?(am i correct na ito ung naintindihan ko from the previous post)
    Medyo naguguluhan kase ako eh..

Well life is just like paper and man the pen.

Generally the purpose of pen is to write the paper.
    And write something good.
    Or draw something worth keeping.

Similarly, the purpose of man is to live life
using his talents and ability to make this world a better place.

But some pen just bore holes at their paper.
Some tear the paper to pieces with its sharp point.
Some just make all the scribbles and make a lot of non-sense.
Some write meaningless straight lines with blanks spaces between them.

Just like people, we live our lives in different ways.
This is because we are not aware of life's purpose.
We are not aware why we are here.
We become complacent to religion and tradition
that we fail to ask the most important question of all.
"What is the purpose of our life here on earth?"

    This is a personal question.
To answer it you should examine yourself.
    What are your strengths?
    what are your weakness?
    what are your gifts?
how can you use them to help other people?
How can you make this world a better place?
That would be the purpose of your life.

Hello agoroy since you do not conform to any specific religion yet you believe in a higher power I'd say you are an agnostic. I am an agnostic too so hello.

what is the purpose of life?

To do as much good as you can while you still have time.

do you still believe in God? if so, Who is God? if no, why?

I believe in a higher power but i think this is more of me hoping there actually is one. It's hard to believe in a God when all your senses tell you otherwise. But the humanity in me wants to believe that my existence mattered so much to Someone that He had to create me. Yes I want to feel loved too.

So who is God? You tell me, not that I would believe you of course.

how do you decide what is and what is not good to you or to o0thers?

People are naturally good. Emotions and experience more than anything have taught me what hurts others and what does not. What hurts me can hurt others too and I learned this revelation long before I could read the bible. Sympathy and empathy come natural to every human being.

do you have principles in life? if so, what?

I do and they come in great numbers: honesty, integrity, justice, etc.

if a person like you, does not also believe any religion, and lives based on freewill
but then kills you or harms your loved one,
    what will you do?

Get mad of course as much as I would should a priest, imam, pastor, engineer, doctor, robber or any other person do the same. I'd kill him too if given the chance.

One good thing about us agnostics is that we do not discriminate.

what happens when your physical body dies?

Everything ends and you become a mere memory. The more reason for you to persevere in doing good since life after death will be spent as a memory. My legacy will live on through my children and their children's children and in the hearts of everyone who loved me.

Sad? Yes it is very sad. That's why I want to believe in a God, that's why I keep my fingers crossed. And just to be on the safe side should a vengeful God actually exist, I choose to believe.

actually, the belief (for lack of a better word) of God does not require a religion. you can still believe in a God, the Source, the Creator, without being affiliated with a religion.

when we all die, we go back to the Source.

for me, the purpose of life is to experience God.

i know there is God. for me, it doesn't require belief. knowing is more than believing.

right or wrong are just two "Relative" words. it depends on whose perspective are we viewing things. the answer is in the Higher Self. what does your Higher Self tell you. everything that we do, has some consequences, be it desirable or undesirable. that is the Law of Karma.

the most basic principle in life is to be alive. live your life. try to experience God in every single moment of your life.

let's just say that i like the Klingon proverb that goes: "Revenge is a sweet dish best served cold."
but that's just me. but hey, first things first. i would do everything to prevent harm to come to me or my love ones.

i'm still catholic. but not practicing anymore. i still do believe in God.

    blessings!
thanks for answering my queries sincerely
and most of those who answered, I sum up to deduce
that those who do not believe in the "shell" which is the organized structure of a spiritual practice
    called "religion"
still believes in the "meat" of purpose for which religion is being put up
like belief in the spiritual aspect of man, of God, of purpose, of doing goodness, etc.
not necessarily believing the afterlife or the immortal aspect of man...
    did I get that correctly?
I also get from the discussion of this thread
that most people do not practice a certain religion
but doesn,t necesarily mean that they do not believe in God...
again, did I get that correctly?

In any way, I share all your sentiments actually
Pero I'm not coming from a place where i dont like any religion
In fact, i like them all!
Kase each religion has its own wisdom and truth
that may complement and contradict each other
Na maaaring makatulong sa understanding on how we view the spiritual world
After studying and practicing a multavariate religion
I decided to practice my original religion
with a deeper understanding of it.
Still, I dont discredit others...because each really is a unique and special path towards Divinity

Right now,in my journey so far...
I believe that each being is Divine
It is a matter of recognizing that divinity within them and in others
I believe that we are Gods. God and us are one.
So whatever i do to others, in thougt, word and action, I am doing it to myself.
So I love each being, coz I love myself...and I love God.
For me, we , our spirit is immortal
    and we never die...only transform.

Just sharing my learnings in life
I still also would like to hear other's journeys as well
I am learning a lot of things from this thread
    namaste!
