Hello Istoryans!
I am a frustrated movie maker and an artist.
I want to form a group here in Cebu who have the same frustrations as me.
But I don't want to lead it though.
I need Tigers (someone born on the year of the tiger-[ages: 46, 34,or 22]) to lead this group.
I can write stories, but not that good, because I don't have background education on scriptwriting.
I can improve stories or anything presented to be improved.
I am a reinventor.
And a creative thinker.
I won national awards for most outstanding creative research in 2001(Filipino Invention Exposition 2001). (3rd lang nuon) hehehe
I can make new ideas from old ideas.
I can compose original songs.
I can shoot photos video with artistic eye..
But I don't have a camera.
But we can always rent one
or hire a videographer when we have the story, script, actors and location.
I can edit a little. But I always leave things to people who can do better than me.
I've seen 70% of the movies ever made (or at least the good ones).
So if anybody is interested to join.
Make yourself known here.

I'm looking for artists with the right positive mental attitude.
No narcisists, scarcity mentality or crab mentality individuals allowed here.
I always know if you are. (I have this gift of knowing them just by seeing them)
We treat each other as equal. We respect each others as artists.
We are here to dream and learn and then make a movie.

I used the word frustrated to attract honest, down to earth and passionate people.
People who would not mind being called frustrated movie makers.
People who are willing to learn
and accept new things and new concepts in order to grow as an artist.

People who are willing to do everything for the sake of art.

I am planning to shoot a scene, and I need somebody with a video cam and a few lights.
Anybody interested?
It doesn't have to be a hi-def video cam.
Handycams will do.

This is interesting. I myself is a frustrated filmmaker. I have background in screenwriting, though. And although I might have seen a lot of movies since my elementary years, I cannot claim I've seen even 50% of the movies made. I still have a lot to see (including more of Ingmar Bergman, Michelangelo Antonioni, Jean Luc Godard, Francois Truffaut, Robert Altman, Alfred Hitchcock, DW Griffith, Orson Welles, Charlie Chaplin, , Federico Fellini, and many many more filmmakers).

I don't know anything about the technicalities of filmmaking. That's why I'm planning to study when I have the time and money.

Also, I'd like to share this with you, in case you have not read or heard about this, during a conference at this year's Cannes Film Fest, Tarantino suggests to aspiring filmmakers to invest their money in making their first movie rather than paying it for film school.

Further he suggests, which I'm planning to do, to enroll in an acting class and direct scenes whenever necessary. This way, a filmmaker can have deeper understanding of acting from an actor's point of view. Besides this, again, I also plan to enroll in a cinematography class or anything that deals with motion picture photography. Because I really don't know technical aspects in filmmaking. And for me, three important things to learn in filmmaking to be well-versed with motion picture are: directing, screenwriting and cinematography.

I wish this "frustrated group" to prosper gyud. But if you need some constructive criticism with scripts, character archs, plot points, structure and story development, story coverage and notes, etc. etc... call me... hehehe.. As of now mao rana akong ma-offer.. hahaha.. Coz in fact I'm also planning to produce my own indie movie in the coming years, and have it released by a friend who is in hollywood, watch out! hahaha.. bitaw, good luck!

But i read in one of the threads here, videographers and film-makers association of cebu, that u backed out because you're not the one nga mo direk sa imohang script? Hmmm.....

You read the thread wrong.
I backed out because the script was very far from story originally discussed.
As ermabelle said it was a close story.
