Dear Honorables,

Media releases of late are rather harsh directed towards a mayor who's
barely out of his first year of office. Inday Nerry has implicitly
called the mayor a liar and has insinuated that there are other mayors
in city hall other than Jonas. I seems to me a full court press for her
announced desire to be Mandaue City's next leader. But, I dare say,
calling the mayor a liar this early in the elections game could be
construed as "gutter languge"... don't you agree?

I've reviewed many tens of pages of our postings and I've found some
very interesting posting from the past. Way back before even Jonas
reached his first year as mayor, the responsible opposition's
disaffecteds have made predictions about the "bleak" future for our city
under the spiteful mayor and the "SOB" clique of advisers. One wrote
about the dirty Jonas tactics in the SK elections which to my mind was
akin to the pot calling the kettle black Now another argues that
Jonas blocks projects meant for Mandaue's citizens.

This started a long time ago way before the mayor even warmed his
slippers as our duly elected mayor! As the right Honorable Carlo said,
a demolition job. But, his (Carlo's) case was filed in 2005 and was
acted on by the Ombudsman just recently. Damn right! A demolition job.

Let me go back to the main design of this letter and that is to appeal
to the responsible opposition in Mandaue to give Jonas a chance. The
obstructionism of the Mandaue City Council is legend. All of this is on
the Mandaue City Council official records and can be perused by the
future. ERUF a case in point, as I've stressed in a previous posting.

I beseech you to give Jonas a chance to prove himself to the
Mandauehanons. He was elected to be mayor of all Mandauehanons and his
ERUF initiative will benefit all of our citizens ... as it has
benefited you. I beg you to stop throwing brickbats and monkey wrenches
at good governance and turn your hearts to the people. Your patrons
have grown fat with corruption so I beg you to release yourselves from
your political vassalhoods and take a chance with our young mayor and
please allow some genuine public service to shine.

A disaffected once wrote that if one doesn't have it, he doesn't ...
again I agree with him a hundred per cent. But let's find it ourselves
to be decent citizens of our community and let the people's mandate of
Jonas, show some collaborative fruition, at least, in the next year of
Jonas' tenure.

I am certain many of our responsible opposition could be a fine mayors
of our fair city someday ... could they not find it in their hearts
to let their goodness show, even just for the next one year?

Me and my entire family and relatives will still vote for Mayor Jonas Cortes this coming 2010 elections.We trust his leadership, integrity and sincerity despite the hardships he had encountered with his opposition councilors.For us he's a true public servant and we could see the late Mayor Demetrio Cortes in him.Go,Go,Go JONAS!We from the silent majority will still be supporting you.

MALACAÑANG has ordered Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes to answer within 15 days the complaint filed by six city councilors against him for dishonesty, oppression, misconduct in office, abuse of authority and culpable violation of the Constitution.

In a fax message to Cortes, Atty. Rowena Turingan-Sanchez, Director IV of the Office of the President, directed the mayor to submit his verified answer, not a motion to dismiss, on the complaint dated April 30, 2008.

As long as naa pa ni silang mga opposition councilors sa Mandaue council wala gyud hunong ang conflict kay mag sige ra man silag bantay sa mga maayong lihok sa mayor.Kung ingon ani pa lang unta kakutihan ang mga councilors under sa Ouano administration sa una, dili unta kakawat ug daghan kwarta ang mga Ouano sa Mandaue.Mao maka ask lang ta ba nganong mag kuti-kuti man ni sila ron ni Mayor Jonas nga to think kaayohan man unta sa mga Mandauehanons iyang e-implement nga mga projects.What's their real intentions and motives behind these?Pasikat lang,nagpa diktar sa mga Ouano or magpa bilib nga maayong laki kunohay sila.Why not just cooperate with the Mayor and wait for thier turn when they become mayors also.Pagka na lang gyud ani nila oist.

but if you look at the business side...

PARK mall 168 is open with more shops and restaurants...

Businessmen have an easier time getting permits (NO MORE CORRUPTION)....

Development will come to mandaue..... no matter how much noise BIANO et al. do.....
