Godsaint: You started this thread with a question, and then you posted what you felt what was an appropriate answer (to your own question, no less). FACT: The rising cost of oil can't be attributed to any single source. The experts generally answer your question with a reply of "it's supply and demand" that dictates the price of oil.. Use less=pay less. There are of course several other significant dynamics at play, and the war in Iraq is certainly one of them. But don't look down the simple path you have chosen because of your dislike for Bush. The war started more than five years ago. When did the price of oil skyrocket? Five years ago? (no). Why does it go fluctuate on an almost daily basis? Because of the war in Iraq? (no). Both you and Cosplay should do a little more research before trying to enlighten us with your combined intellects. One of you mentioned the economic crisis and that's a start, but how about considering the oil speculators, attacks on refineries, and the role of OPEC? Get back to us when you have a better informed position, ok? Demonociety and RLU are in the same boat... Wanting to point their finger at someone instead of using it to type and search for real answers on a computer. And to declare that Bush has caused all of the world's disasters? Floods and earthquakes?
There are many factors that led to the rapid increase in the price of oil in the world market. One of which is the slow down of the US economy, the dollar is very weak. Another reason involves geopolitics. Some countries purchase so much oil reserves so that in any event they will have a stock. Consequently, demand is high, so the price increases also. Law of supply and demand comes in. Then there is even the heightened U.S. and Israeli military aggression in the Middle East causing some conflict over the region. Some Arab countries also spoke about limiting the oil they sell in order to preserve their nations' resources for the next generation of their people. But we do not have to worry about running out of oil supply. There are discoveries in different areas in the world and if developed then the middle East will not be the only source of the world's oil supply. Here in the Philippines, science and technology is beginning to contribute to the discovery of alternative fuel resources. In the near future, the Philippines shall tap natural resources for oil so as not to depend solely on imported fuel products.
You are right Vince the war started 5 years ago and the effect was the downfall of your economy. Now,as we know many country including the Philippines is depending in strength of your dollar.Your govt budget is allocated more on your wargames. So what happen now?Your country is going down and your president is pulling everybody inorder to lift himself up.Again, who owns the biggest oil companies now?The answer is BUsh.You should get rid of your war so that nations will live in peace.Tell that to BUsh.
Bush! kung wa pa gi magicē ang Florida votes Al Gore unta to president nila.. mas environment friendly pa
In case you haven't actually looked into the US and its financial history, economic recessions occur from time to time. The USA isn't "going down" (you can't really believe that, can you?).. It's on the verge of recession, and may indeed already be in an economic recession. It's happened before, and seems to occur every twenty years or so, but the final result has always been an economic rebound. Sounds as if you are considering this particular recession as being the "final collapse" of the United States economy? Your harshly worded comments, " the downfall of your economy" and "Your country is going down" only reinforce my opinion of you as being one who speaks emotionally before thinking factually. In response, am I now supposed to bring up the fate of "your country" if it could no longer depend upon the US for financial support? I'm pretty sure that you already know the answer to that question.. You shouldn't be gloating at the moment, Godsaint. Instead, you should be hoping for an end to the economic woes of not just the US, but of the rest of the world as well.
i think it's more of a WHAT is causing...
