    Default Why aren't Hybrids being introduced into the philippines?

    I mean, what's the deal with that?

    ang hybrid muy man nuon ang kina efficient cars in the world karun. proven and tested to produce up to 20-25km/L. Nya karun nuon ang gas hapit najud maabut ug 60 pesos kada-litro. why isn't toyota opting to introduce the prius into philippine dealerships? or honda with their hybrid civics. They were already out since the early 2000s. and with current news, the upcoming model of the prius would target reaching 100mpg, or roughly around 40+ - 50+ km/L. usikan jud kos thought nganu la tay prius kay sure ko economiya jud kaau na. naa banay logical explanation?

    Dili bai.

    Hybrids are cars that uses both gas and electric engine. The batteries recharges when the gas engine is used and during braking.

    From the Toyota group of companies , it was rumored that will launched its 2009 model in the Philippines . That would mean , dealerships should be filled with Prius late this year of early next year . The problem is , CONSUMERS are buying the PRIUS more than TOYOTA can PRODUCE them . IN the US alone , there is a waiting list of up to a year to order .

    My theory on why it is still not introduced in the Philippines probably because at that time ( early 2000 ) basin dili mo click , and when we say dili mo click , dako kaayo ang cost to send technicians to Japan to learn and become a certified Prius technician and mind us , dili lang kay 1 ra ang ipadala ana . Pero karon mo click gyud ang HYbrid cars because of the fuel prices pero I dont know what is the status . Kapuliki ang Toyota karon ug manufacture sa Prius , even my family is scared also to bring the car over here kay ug madaut walay kamao mo ayo , I guess we'll just wait sa model mo gawas then ipa import siya . It really is 45 MPG .... A FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE and a bang for the buck vehicle because it comes with a GPS , VOICE ACTIVATED TECHNOLOGY and all the luxury you want fitted in an economy car .

    Very expensive,....

    Dual drive train E-motor and gas engine plus the motor serves as generator when charging.
    The battery is too expensive prius uses Li-ion battery w/c probably cost another car.

    [QUOTE=b00rdz;2937901]Dili bai.

    ahh mao bah ..sorry for that. No wonder mas economical ang hybrids cars noh ..so wala pa gyud diay diri sa Philippines? I think mas nice ang honda civic hybrid compared sa toyota prius hybrid.

    Check this out, ako gi search ang hyundai tucson,i got this article from the wikipedia.

    The Hyundai Tucson:

    The earlier diesels had 113 bhp, and the later ones 140 bhp and a 6 speed manual gearbox. These later models are capable of returning over 45 mpg with almost the same performance as the 2.7L petrol engined models.

    If I'm not mistaken, Toyota Prius runs at 45mpg? or was that the honda civic hybrid?
