    Our Lady Peace

How far is it to peace, the piper sighed,
The solitary, sweating as he paused.
Asphalt the noon; the ravens, terrified,
Fled carrion thunder that percussion caused...

For homely goddess, big as the world that burned,
Grandmother and taskmistress, frild and town.
We let the stranger go; but when we turned
Our lady lived, fierce in each other's frown.

Our Lady Peace is a poem by Mark van Doren

It is the poem that the band Our Lady Peace got their name.

if you havent heard of 'em, they're the guys who gave you songs like

clumsy, life, somewhere out there, superman's dead, etc.....

A Sad Child -- by Margaret Atwood

    You're sad because you're sad.
    It's psychic. It's the age. It's chemical.
Go see a shrink or take a pill,
or hug your sadness like an eyeless doll
    you need to sleep.

    Well, all children are sad
    but some get over it.
Count your blessings. Better than that,
buy a hat. Buy a coat or pet.
    Take up dancing to forget.

    In the Depths of Solitude

I exist in the depths of solitude
    pondering my true goal
Trying 2 find peace of mind
    and still preserve my soul
    CONSTANTLY yearning 2 be accepted
    and from all receive respect
    Never compromising bur sometimes risky
and that is my only regret
A young heart with an old soul
    how can there be peace
How can I be in the depths of solitude
when there R 2 inside of me
    This Duo within me causes
    the perfect opportunity
2 learn and live twice as fast
    as those who accept simplicity

You Tell Me by Marra PL. Lanot

You tell me if you had a wife
    You wouldn't mind her falling
    In love with another, especially
If you left her crying in the night.

You ask me if I want you
To think of no one but me
For you say you'd gladly spend
    Your life unraveling a mystery:
    Thinking of me, you say,
Is like deciphering a distant star.

    And you wouldn't mind
    Being used in a poem,
    For art you can't refuse.
    To err is human
    But "human" is no excuse.
To love is natural, the heart
    Has its reason, but
    The heart is unreasonable
    And I am left confused.

So I'd rather cry over him
    Than be happy with you;
    I'd rather end up
    Dreaming and remain a star
    You'll always seek and remember
    Than sink down and regret
    You're like other men
    Who make their women cry.

There's no love in me without your bieng,
no breath without that. I once thought
i could give up this longing,
    then thought again,
but i couldn't continue being human.

    My Shooting Star

    Â*
not too long ago i learned something new
and that something i learned was you
    the stars are falling
    as i hear you calling
    the things you say
    day after day
    shocking but its true
    im completly falling for you
dont no how it can be
but i think it would be a great we.
    Shoot for the stars
    unless they fall to you
    live life to the fullest
    and find what is true
steal my heart you asked me
but now you know you have the key
use it if its really true
I found my shooting star.....in you
