    Default Vampire subculture

    Hi all,

I'm currently working on an assignment, all about the vampire subculture here in the Philippines. Would any of you know some people who are into the vampire lifestyle? It's closely related to goth/emo but they have their own thing.

I'd really appreciate any reply or PM regarding this. It's an emerging subculture that I think would be an interesting topic for discourse.

    Thanks

I think these subculture are mainly about fashion and such. I dont really see such as forms of spirituality or even the occult.

They chose the term 'vampire' to label their community because it seems fitting to their 'porma' and to their affinity on everything black, dark, gloomy, and bloody.

I believe that the intent is to use the term mainly as a label.

I personally have a bit of 'indifference' towards them. I dont know why but, sometimes they kind of bring such trends too seriously. They think Emo, Goth, and the like runs deeper than music and fashion.(No offense to those who does and those who do not.)

It depends on how the word vampire is used.

Sometimes the word 'vampire' is used as a metaphor, referring to a person, whose 'energy' drains you and swallows you.

Goths today are more like fashion or a statement practicing victorian or medieval culture like wearing symbolic crosses and, pale skin (or make-up). They wear black clothing, as black is the absence of light(called dark), and may also represent a lot of things, - attention, dominance or status, or maybe darkness within. Black absorbs all color. I don't know if they are really gloomy. They, maybe, able to see the darker side of life. I'm not really sure of their philosophy coz di man ko expert.

Emo is like fashion usually sa mga banda. Teenagers from 13-19 yrs old, who wears black, peircings, chains and tatoos, and make a gloomy pose on the camera, and stick their tongues out. Their image is a representation for their emotional expression in fashion sense.

If you say, mag ritual na, they are vampire cults, who drink blood from victims, and they smile with their fangs. These vampires, I don't know if naa na dire sa Philippines. If you are hunting these vampires, I don't know if it's a good idea.. but Happy hunting.. They only come out at Night.
