Sulu negotiators in Drilon kidnapping face raps

MANILA, Philippines -- (UPDATE 2) Kidnap for ransom charges will be filed against a town mayor in Sulu and his son who negotiated for the release of a television news team amid circumstantial evidence that the two had connived with the Abu Sayyaf group, police officials said Thursday.

The complaint for four counts of kidnapping against Mayor Alvarez Isnaji and his son Haider will be filed at the Department of Justice later in the day for their alleged involvement in the abduction of ABS-CBN’s Ces Drilon, her crew, and a professor at the Mindanao State University, PNP Chief Avelino Razon said.

Razon and Chief Superintendent Raul Castañeda, head of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, said police have witnesses that implicated the Isnajis in the kidnapping.

“He [Mayor Isnaji] is a principal suspect,” Razon said.

“Mayor Isnaji was not the government negotiator. He was negotiating for the kidnap for ransom group,” the PNP chief added.

"Based on the recommendation of our lawyers and investigators, we will be filing charges against the Isnajis," Castañeda said in a separate interview earlier in the day.

The Isnajis were brought to the CIDG Wednesday and underwent “tactical interrogation.”

Castañeda said the PNP would present the Isnajis in a press conference later this Thursday.

Drilon, her cameraman Jimmy Encaracion and Angelo Valderama; and professor Octavio Dinampo were abducted last June 8.

Valderama was released June 12 after payment of “board and lodging fee.” The other three were released late Tuesday night. The ABS-CBN news team is now in Manila. The government and the television network claimed that despite a P15 million ransom demanded by the abductors, no money was paid for the release of Drilon and company.

AKo-ang wild theory lang no noh .... sakto gyud na ang sulti sa taas !!

Its just a stage play , we may just dont know if si CESS DRILON kay involved or not but its a planned comspiracy by no other than LOREN LEGARDA !! Mao gi release na lang kay walay RANSOM ? Maybe and maybe not but maybe because they really dont hav a plan to kill CES DRILON , drama ra to . Now if there was a RANSOM released , that would be LOREN LEGARDAS FINANCIAL CAMPAIGN for free !! A percentage would go to the actors and wannabe rebels and specially a spot and backing support from a stronghold politician who is LOREN LEGARDA herself for Ces Drilon in the future if she is interested running for s position whom I would assume to following the footsteps of NOLI de CASTRO and LOREN LEGARDA .

Buang ba gud i release na sila without HARM being done or RANSOM released . These are JIHAD ISLAMIYA REBELS , known to be a hardcore and IMPATIENT radical muslims and stops anyone in their way no matter who it is .

Incriminating mobile phone conversation picked up by a US satellite led authorities to implicate and arrest Indanan town Mayor Alvarez Isnaji and his son in the kidnapping of senior ABS-CBN News anchorwoman Ces Oreña-Drilon and three others in Sulu.
