    Default Adobe RGB or sRGB?

What color space do you use when taking pictures?

  2. #2
    sRGB - standard (no choice)

AdobeRGB - more tones (better but not standard)

btw, if you have questions regarding color spaces, you may also post here so that members who know about the subject may answer.

    to answer my own question:

for publications, I use Adobe RGB

for web and mini lab printing, I use sRGB

ako, i shoot RAW, so i use adobe rgb.

ok ra man ang srgb pero kun mag-RAW ko, i find it sensible to use adobe rgb. pareha ra sa 40D nga 14-bit sensor, dili nimo ma-maximize kun mag jpeg ra ka which is 8-bit file lang.

even sa web, adobe rgb gihapon ko with the advice that they are better viewed using the color-managed Safari browser from Apple.

in fact, other photographers are using the much wider ProPhoto RGB in Camera Raw and in Photoshop because the sensor (in RAW mode) can capture a gamut wider than adobe rgb. But there is a caveat. Here's the link for the discussion and the arguments including sample images:

I use adobe rgb sa camera para ok na for printing. then for my photo posts I use srgb. Additionally though I use a custom profile generated with my monitor calibration tool (spyder2pro). At least dili kaau "cool" tan-awon ako ng monitor.

Libog ko kai if srgb ang gamiton para sa images optimised for viewing on a monitor, adobe rgb para sa print unsa man gyud diay gamit aning monitor calibration?

what I know is ang calibrated profile gamiton nako sa monitor og sa printer. pero ang photoshop for example nag gamit og kaugalingon na profile then i change nimo to the calibrated profile ang isa ka image di na nuon sakto ang colors niya on screen.

    anyone know? please enlighten us.
