actually... western wats is not as bad as other companies... Convergys for one as you may all know.. lays off agents as soon as possible.. because of their said "PERFORMANCE" or they have "NOT MET" their standards. BUT! Yes, BUT!! we all know, that they do this laying off coz even if they lay off as many as milion agents per week they know that there will be 2 million others who will apply.. that is why they will never stop laying off people as early as 3 months..

these set standards are there to "prevent" ur growth.. matira ang matibay.. so who is the lesser evil now...
western wats has retreanched a couple of people.. because of their performance.. it may have been sudden, it may have been done improperly but as far as i know they are oughtta be terminated.. i have friends that were terminated and they know their mistakes.

we were just used to slacking off coz since 2003, only this 2008, wats had set performance standards..
erp or employee rewards program.. to make u more understand, even if u will not get a complete even for a week u dnt get terminated nor reprimanded.. as long as u read verbatim, u follow instructions, u don't falsify and u dnt speak in vernacular on the floor.

in short, we are spoiled brats, since 2003, until this 2008, the new president had set new standards.
so, guys.. WATS may have chosen the wrong path in terminating them immediately, WATS may have become stricter but one things for sure, i know X-WATS agents wud know this..

There is no other company like WATS.

no offense but this is the veil of smoke that creates an illusion that most people particularly the young fall into and eventually get stuck.

what if i tell you that a carwash or a barber has more job security? You'll be laughing, but it is true.
im not taking sides , alright, but for sun it is a career. it's like kristine hermosa saying acting is "absolutely" a CAREER. It is not stable for some but it is for others.. Just like working in a call center.. it is a career for someone could be long term or not but experience is the best teacher... look at DOLPHY old but still in acting.. ahhahahahha maybe if callcenters here in the philippines started early 80s, maybe the emplyees then would still be here.. hahhahahhah

I see.. I must have mistaken this for the wrong impressions.. bitaw.. i think that termination of employees is the prerogative of the company.. the employees have absolutely NO right to complain.. after all, it is the company who chose to employ them, the one who is paying them, and the one who has the option to remove them of their livelihood if they did not do well.. i agree with maev7983 that it is ALWAYS performance based..

murag ikaw man ang wala kahibalo unsa jud ang nahitabo ma'am... maybe you should also stop listening to your friends side and maybe try to find out from the company's side on what really happened.

too bad, it is sad for them to loose their job during that time, but would it have made a difference it they lost it in a much earlier time? I don't think so... you have to understand, if a company keeps an employee, no matter how bad that employee's performance is (productivity, quality, attendance), then that company should become a charity institution and not a business.

wala may ga-ingon nga sayon ang trabaho sa interviewers but that is it not a reason for you to slack off, that should be a reason for you to work harder... lisod man diay, di paningkamot aron dili ka matrouble...

and, you're talking about people nga nangataktak kay dagko sila ug sweldo, nganong naa paman lagi mga tawo diha nga sobra pa 4 years, trabaho lang gihapon... kay kanang nangahabilin, kasabot man gud sila nga lisod balhin² ug trabaho so maningkamot ka sa unsa imo naa karon aron dili ka taktakon...

as what my former boss said, don't give the company a reason to take you out... just do your job, do it well and you'll have no issues at all... (true to all companies...)

honestly, i got my own issues with the company, i have issues with my boss, i have issues with my colleagues, but I will not let the company have issues with my performance because if I do, I know I'll loose my job... not a good thing especially with all these economic problems that's happening...

I'm just getting tired of people whining about the company and not looking at themselves... check yourself sa uy kung angay ba jud mo mureklamo, basin and companya dapat diay ang mureklamo bahin ninyo...

naa koy amigo diha dugay napud to siya but wala pa man sad siya gitaktak.. hehe

anyway, wala man sad siguro tay hold sa company kay under mana sa ilang discretion.. considering pud unsa ka kusog ang turn-over sa mga empleyado diha, di nalang ta mag expect kaayo nga mo last ta anang trabaho-a oiz.. take it one day at a time lang gud unya e lower gamay ang expectation kay kanang mag trabaho sa BPO murag sa ako lang, agad-agad pud na silas trend.. ang uban mga call center sa ubang nasud nag close naman gani.

on the other hand, daghan na raba kunog gipang insomniac tungod anang graveyard shift, tinood na?
