first you need a broker. if you wish to buy or sell, you just callthe broker and he will do the rest. he gets commission everytime you sell stocks. advantage of stocks, you can hit a multibagger and multiply your investment more than 100x, depende sa performance sa imung stocks.. disadvantage; you have little control on the stock market, you may lose a fortune if you're playing gambling in stock market. experts always suggest to play the stock market with imaginary money. for example, you choose 1 or two companies, say you invest 1Mpesos on each company. watch how you perform without risking realmoney. you can play like thisfor6months before you begin to invest in real life.. you can read moreabout stocks on booksby peter lynch... lots of info there...

stocks always outperform bonds in the long term... this is based on peter lynch's analysis... example is: there was a period when mcdonalds offered bonds and stocks. the mcdonald bonds promised around 6% gain on your investment. So that means, you will surely get 6% more from your investment. no matter how bad mcdonalds will perform. If it goes bankrupt, you'l be paid first before stockholders. In buying macdonald stocks, you're promised nothing. If it performs bad, you might lose money. but if it performs extremely well, you may have multiplied your investments by 50 or more. just imagine that... if i purchased the bond for 100 pesos while you bought 100 pesos worth of stock, then mcdo's price rises to 100 pesos from 1 peso, then i gain only 6 pesos while you gain 9900pesos.but if mcdo 's price declines to .10 centavos from1 peso, i still gain 6 pesos while you lose 90 pesos.... stock market is very complicated. i'm still studying it.. wala pa ku actively trading stocks. pero i have friends who are into the stocks already..

@borgia, equity/stocks and bonds. The easiest way to invest ani is through mutual funds if you want to start and know less para ani. You'll learn in the process. Ang mutual fund is e pool ang money sa tanan investor then the a fund manager mao na ang mo invest sa money. Two kinds of funds is ang equity and bonds. ang equity/stock is mas risky ang market but mas dako ug gain LONG TERM.. like for say 20 years, mo gain ug about 12% per annum imo gi pang invest. Ang bonds on the other hand is mas stable but mas gamay ug growth rate.. usually about 6% to 8%.. for long term.. try equity.. there is more to this and I will try to share everything I can.. I'll post more soon.

If you want to know where I learn about stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. I suggest trying out IMG (International Marketing Group). We are a group of financial brokers openly willing to help people understand these sort of financial services. Bitaw if you are interested.. PM me or try to visit sa amo office. I joined and I learned more about the stock market, how it works, and the secret behind it. Still learning kay daghan pajd dapat ma kat-onan.. so just PM me..

I'll try to post more on Mutual Funds and the stock market soon.
