Welcome back Luthienne..........abi kug na tuk-an na ka sa harp. hehehe. Ok lang nang nabutdan kay zero calories bitaw nang hangin.
I am not laughing. I am full of awe and admiration. hehehe Bag-o pa gali ka naa na kay hibaw-an. It took me a lot of years of hit and miss kay wala man koy instructinal materials sa una. Kinsa author sa imong book ug dvd? La-in lain na sila ug style sa tablature para mag kasinabut ta pag discuss later.
Basin .....Ode to Joy ang imong gitukar. Kung naa kay pangutana.feel free to post , email or PM me. I may be of help on note bending and positions playing. (Sounds kinky hehehe)Later kung sige na kag practice basin ako na nya ang magpatudlo. hehehe.
I suroy suroy gyud na imong Auntie kay kung makat-un na ka ug tukar sigurado mag papalit napud kag lain. hehehe.
Special 20 is also my favorite. Another is the pro harp because it is black. I just bought a Marine band soloist model. It is in Low C key. Lisod i-bend ang bass note. But I will be using it more for chordal playing.
Na - enganyo na pud ko mo practice hehehe.

Hohner Pro Harp and Special 20 have the same sound but as you said cool ang black. hehehe. You have a couple of months to decide. Basta importante. Key of C ug A.

Ang available nga instructionals diri puro beginners. Na-ay general oriented ug naay blues style. Kung intermediate-advance imong gusto pangita na lang online.
I think the best option for you now is to borrow Luthiennes dvd.

waaaaaa! naka ikyas na gyud intawon ko. i'm not in Cebu right now. i'm in Ozamis. tagsa na lang kaayo ko maka internet. pero i'll make sure to drop in every now and then kay kamo ra gyuy maka guide nako ani. gi dala dala nako ako harmonica and instructional dvd's kay among payag gi usab dayun unsaon na lang ug maadto sa dili mao nga mga kamot. hehe.

sayun ra man diay ang hand vibrato. but it takes practice to master lang. kinkoi kaayo mag vibrato vibrato dayun u don't know what ur doing. lol.

@ serpentboy: haha. minyo na ako auntie oi. she's my mom's elder sister. pwede ka makahulam sa ako dvd's kung napahimuslan na ni nako. pero maulaw ko kay murang pang beginners kaayo siya.

i've been wanting to find time for practice. pero daghan lang kaayo tawo puryabuyag. mga ig-agaw mga tiyo tiya ug uban pa. lahi ko kung mag practice ganahan ko wala'y samok. so karon wala pa gyud ko'y improvements except i'm learning the hand vibrato na.

mag sige lang ko'g trapo sa akong harmonica kung wa ko'y lingaw. di ko ganahan mawala iyang shine. how can i keep it shining?

Telepath? Psychopath pwede? haha. Hinay hinay ug trapo sa imong harp kay mahilis nya na. hehehe. Congratulations sa imong bag-ong skill, hand vibrato. The more challenging one will be the throat vibrato and the diaphragmatic vib. Pero ayaw kagu-ol kay dili kaayo essential.
Sige lag practice. I am also trying to find time and place to practice. Like you I don't like to practice when there are other people. Jamming is different.

@luthienne: I-amen na lang ko sa imong auntie hehehe... Good luck sa imong pag practice... huslan nya nako ng imong instructionals ha? Mas nindot nga mahibaw-an jud ang mga basics aron dali muaasenso sa pag play sa instrument. Di parehas nako nga sige lag trial and error... hinuon time is a great teacher... but it takes too much time, hehehe!

@ aquafire: yup. Ode To Joy diay to akong gi practicean kang Beethoven. i listened to the first dvd awhile ago. daghan diay kaayo kong sayup, mas maayo gyud diay maminaw sa dvd.

murang nabaid na'g maayo akong wa-it inig slide slide sa harmonica. hehe. kinahanglan sad diay'g pahuway. hihi.Â* pero nalingaw ko. it's quite different playing along with the dvd. feel jud kaayo kay naa man lain accompaniment sa background.

anyway, here are the expression markings in my book:

V - hand vibrato
S - slide
B - half step bend
_
B - whole step bend
T -Â* trail off
Tr - trill
W -Â* grace note (mouth wah bend)

the author by the way is Peter Gelling.

ga lisud ko pirmiro aning mga symbol sa notes. wa gyud koy alamag ani. menta to'g kabalo ko mo piano murang mas mo paspas ko. pero unsaon. sagdi lang.

@ aquafire: what confused me of the tabs you sent me were the symbols e and i. if i had been paying close attention to what i was reading i would've found out right away that e and i only meant exhale and inhale respectively. hehe. to think naglibog ko'g maayo unsa kaha to. waaa. anyway, i have yet to learn all the bends before ko maka play ato. pero there isn't a bbb in my book.

i tried playing it without the bends pero mag lisud pa ko. it would be much easier if i had something to listen to, or if i knew when to pause to breathe and start again.Â*Â*
