Hmm, being here in Manila haven't seen any. Though interesting siguro to listen Bubble Gang in Bisaya. There are always two sides to coin. Think about it guys:

Mura ug Japan, tanan shows didto dubbed in thier language (siempre kay monolingual ang mga Hapon). But hey its an elevation of the Visayan Language. Siguro kung tarungon nila ug dub it will be better. You have to remember nga dli tanan in the Visayas have a good command in Tagalog.

Siguro people like us in Istorya does, but think of the common Masa. Am sure mas na appreciate ni nila. =)

Anyways I salute GMA for this brave and innovative move.

this was printed in Dolly Carvajal's column Dollywood in the daily inquirer today:

    Dubbing not needed

I GOT tons of e-mail from Cebu asking why GMA 7’s shows are dubbed in Cebuano when they are aired there. One reader says, “We understand Tagalog—no need for Cebuano dubbing. It makes the actors look silly ’cause we know that they don’t speak our dialect. Hope that GMA stops it already.” We already have an overkill of Korean telenovelas dubbed in Tagalog. Now it’s Tagalog sitcoms dubbed in Cebuano! Shades of what President Macapagal-Arroyo calls Two Philippines, huh? Hopefully even just via TV shows, all Pinoys will speak the same language

Between the lines I get the sense that the dubbing has nothing to do with the Bisaya tongue but with the way this language is translated and articulated.

According to my sources, the scripts of these shows are now being translated by the GMA/Cebu news people and faxed to Manila. And, also, Mr. Ramon Labra, a Cebuano ADR specialist in Manila, is said to be taking over the earlier team coming from Iloilo, then translating and dubbing these shows from the beginning. Ramon is now recruiting talents in Cebu from those displaced from radio soaps.

Earlier this month, Ramon was seen at SM Cebu with ace radio drama writer Boy Patalinghug, both in deep thought on how could real Cebuano Bisaya voice talents reassert their craft in dubbing GMA shows.

This effort is being supported by the entire Radio Collective now meeting every Friday evening at the office of the President of the CSAT.
