Sometimes I just want to use a bike to save a little. After all, it will also benefit the environment because I will not anymore contribute to air pollution. In that way, you are resolving the problem in a positive way.

We can only endure this scenario if we wanted to. While the government is trying to resolve the concern with alternative energy resources, we must also find ways on our own to lessen our dependence on imported oil.

    Crude Oil Market Under Investigation

CBNNews.com - WASHINGTON - Federal regulators are six months into a wide-ranging investigation of U.S. oil markets, with a focus on possible price manipulation.

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission on Thursday said it started the probe in December and took the unusual step of publicizing it "because of today's unprecedented market conditions."

Crude prices have risen more than 42 percent since early December, even after a decline of more than $4 to $126.62 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Gasoline prices are nearing a national average of $4 a gallon, up from about $3.20 a year ago.

Germany in call for ban on oil speculation

German leaders are to propose a worldwide ban on oil trading by speculators, blaming the latest spike in crude prices on manipulation by hedge funds.

It is the most drastic proposal to date amid escalating calls from Europe, the US and Asia for controls on market forces, underscoring the profound shift in the political climate since the credit crunch began. India has already suspended futures trading of five commodities.
