it totally depends on a person's orientation & perspective if he is employment-inclined or entrepreneurally-inclined, or somewhere in between. it also depends on his/her family background. if he/she comes from a family w/ a family business, it is more likely that he/she will follow the footsteps of the parents. but if he/she is oriented towards employment like nursing school for example, then he/she will be geared towards finding a job abroad. Entrepreneurship cannot work for all people...

Entrepreneural spirit must come from the heart and driving passion. if u don't have it (yet), don't do it...

Being an entrepreneur is not easy...some people are naturally born with it, and some people cultivated the spirit. Backgrounds in life, ambition and creativity play major roles in being an entrepreneur. No one can actually teach this spirit because if pwede pa alng, everyonewho attended "entrepreneurial classes" na dato na. Being in business doesn't mean you are already an entrepreneur. For example,if you do internet cafe right now copying the styleofother internet cafes then you are just in business. But if you have created a different stylein internet cafe where no one has ever tried before, then you are an entrepreneur. Definitely, not all people WILL be entrepreneurs but all of us CAN BE one.

having a sari-sari store doesn't necessarily make u an entrepreneur.

As Peter Drucker puts it: "Entrepreneurship is about taking risk." The behavior of the entrepreneur reflects a kind of person willing to put his or her career and financial security on the line and take risks in the name of an idea, spending much time as well as capital on an uncertain venture.

    Characteristics of entrepreneurship

    * The entrepreneur has an enthusiastic vision, the driving force of an enterprise.
    * The entrepreneur's vision is usually supported by an interlocked collection of specific ideas not available to the marketplace.
    * The overall blueprint to realize the vision is clear, however details may be incomplete, flexible, and evolving.
    * The entrepreneur promotes the vision with enthusiastic passion.
    * With persistence and determination, the entrepreneur develops strategies to change the vision into reality.
    * The entrepreneur takes the initial responsibility to cause a vision to become a success.
    * Entrepreneurs take prudent risks. They assess costs, market/customer needs and persuade others to join and help.
    * An entrepreneur is usually a positive thinker and a decision maker.

Actually, technically, it is. Entrepreneur is defined as a person who organizes and manages any enterprise, especially a business, usually with considerable initiative and risk. Sari-sari store owners still face risk no matter how small it is.
