Diablo II (LOD) cannot connect to server error when hosting/joining TCP/IP game

Help!
I have 2 PCs running Windows XP Pro SP2 connected ad-hoc. I installed Diablo II (LOD) on both PCs and tried playing for TCP/IP connection. Unfortunately, I've been pested with "Cannot connect to server error" everytime any of the 2 PCs joins the game. Windows Firewall were already turned-off, all connections tested to be working, running another network game works (ie. Warcraft III, Battle Realms, Counter, etc.). Any help would be greatly appreciated...
