there is already a plan (holiday economics) for the whole year of 2008 and the years ahead.

    here's the link:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_...he_Philippines

Under the new Republic Act 9492 (Holiday Economics Law):

    (1) Exempted from holiday economics -- that is, holidays that will be observed on the date on which they fall -- are Labor Day (May 1) Christmas Day (December 25), New Year’s Eve (December 31), New Year’s Day (January 1), Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Eid’l Fitre (October 13) and All Saints Day (November 1).

    (2) The “moveable days” are Bataan Day (April 9), Independence Day (June 12), National Heroes Day (August 31), Bonifacio Day (November 30) and Rizal Day (December 30).

National Statistical Coordination Board figures showed that if tourism businesses and related industries increased by 10 percent as a result of the long weekends, the economy would actually experience a 3.5-percent growth in gross domestic product.

as for Labor Day (May 1), it is not covered by ‘holiday economics’ under Proclamation No. 1463. Karon pa ni nausab from moveable to exempted. thus the confusion over it.

The Labor Day commemoration remains unmoved since it is seen as a "long cherished tradition of workers, a holiday which trade unions fought very hard to institutionalize in the country and an international event that workers want to celebrate on its exact date."

asa man ang relationship sa pgkatapulan sa usa ka gov't worker sa Holiday economics? murag wala man tingali...musamot ug katapulan? can u elaborate more?

ibutang ta lang ang holiday falls on a thursday. dili kha ka kapoyan mag huna2x ug work inig friday ky sandwich man? mas productive ka kung straight imo work until thurs and go on a holiday fri... long wkend pa ka...so di ba mas maayo?

IMHO, kung tapulan ka, tapulan jud ka, even w/o the Holiday economics...it is the job of the manager to ensure walay tapulan nga employee ug keep productivity level satisfactory or higher.

unsa man kunoy nka lahi sa transaction of permits & others if a holiday falls on a thurs & not moved to fri than being moved to a fri?

murag wa ko kasabot sa imong buot ipa ibot. kung ma-long weekend diay, mas ma langay ang processing of transactions? asa na man diay ang holiday mismo? kalimtan lang nato? bsan wala pay holiday economics, we have one day less of transaction due to the holiday...ang holiday mismo ang nkapalangay sa transaction for 1 day, not the holiday economics.

AFAIK, mas delikado gani hinuon ka nga dili ka mka transact ig fri ky ang kasagaran himuon sa gov't employee mo-leave nlng ug friday ky sandwich...

ako bay sa kadugay na nako ug obserbar ug transact sa gov't, mao gyuy kasagaran himuon. kung sandwich gani, dili nlng motungha. ingnon lng ka nga lunes nlng ky wa diha, on-leave since thurs. lunes pa mubalik...
