What is the ideal Processor Temp?

I'm using intel dual core processor 3.00 GHz and DQ965FE ng motherboard. My startup temperature reading from my bios is 48 degrees C. I have problem kay ga shot down lang kalit (I hear my PC trip) kung moabot na of 58C ang temp (esp when I'm playing games that need high resources). I'm using Intel Desktop Utilities to see the temp. Unsa man jud ang normal temp para sa akong PC?

what part of the game? what game? how long before it happens? games only?

motherboard: DQ965GFE
graphics card: Inno3D 7300GT
HDD: 80Gb SATA Seagate Barracuda
power supply: generic 500W

My pc usually trip during loading of the game (NBA LIVE '08 or Unreal Tournament or even just playing with Diablo III) after about 1 hour from startup. I used to think the trip was a result of overheating but I have changed its heat sink to ASUS EVO. The heat sinker have fans on both ends (one direction lang ang hangin). Using the Intel Desktop Utilities between 45-58 C ang temp (45 is the startup temp and 58C after prolonged use). Even with an electric fan assisting to cool my pc, it still trip.

My voltages are all in the limits (based from Intel Desktop Utilities).

I've read some comments about my motherboard's unreliable heat sinker clip. I have to open my CPU from time to time and unlock and lock the clips that holds the heat sink to the CPU because it loosens overtime. When I do it, the problem usually stops. But after a couple of weeks it comes back again. Somebody help! I beginning to get frustrated with my CPU.

you said you constantly remove the heat sink right? everytime you remove the heatsink, you have to reapply thermal grease or else the contact between the heatsink and the core is compromised. could be the reason your temps high. what's your processor model?

Did you use thermal compound between the heatsink and the CPU and if you did, did you clean the old crud off the CPU first?

Oh did I say Diablo III? It was supposedly Diablo II. Hellgate ang diablo III and its not even released yet. I'm sorry for the error.

I don't remove my heat sink. I only unlock and relock the pins for the heat sink. I do the unlocking and relocking one by one kay I will mess up with the thermal paste. I think, ok akong thermal paste kay the technician did it for me when I replaced my heat sink. Ok, I will take a pic on my setup.

OT: woot this thread just got me in to diablo 3!

for me ideal temp is below 60C (Full Load). Core 2 Duo (Conroe) processors.
