DEEP FREEZE!! help

using deepfreeze for a year with antivirus, proper parition and management No problem at all I usually clean my customers usb's for deepfreeze its a preventive tool the only time i had a problem is when i installed a crack software and after 6 months it turns into a trojan so my advice be careful what you install

like i said.. use all the FREE features in windoze....

for the topic:

there applications and games wont run on, some sites are blocked, etc.

you familiar with the command RUNAS? ... you can even script it... just google "sanur" , a free runas scripting utility.

normally when using deepfreeze alot of beginners have trouble adopting to this and made lots of errors and focusly blame on this software. I ones reformat my hardrive the 1st time I used this software, because of being a newbie I probably felt bad what happend.

BUt Ones you have the knowledge or experience to know how to configure, seriously its one of the best softwares out there for prevention and protection. I only check my cafe ones a week and all my computers is enabled free downloads from the browser and I allow usb for my customers with free cleaning using anti virus.

I never had a virus, spywares and etc. in my computers coming from my customers.

except the time i accidently add a software that has a virus inside that i didnt know. it just appeares after 6 months. I blame myself for that not the deepfreeze

you still dont get, do you? ports blocked then use/run the command RUNAS?

yep.... you have to make runas (as any administrator account) a certain program that would'nt run on a User account..

or

you can set up security restrictions on folders to program locations that would'nt run on a User account and give them special permissions...


these solves the common programs that dont run in user environments.. like online games, some p2p, some im etc...

and for the sake of argument, even youre using admin account games wont work simply ports are blocked by ISA server.

i know what youre talking those security restricitons but you didn't even answer my question about GPO..

no need to tweak the gpo... leave it as is..

if you have an isa server, then open the ports needed.. simple..
