Wow. Long post there. But I think the words that you are looking for are:

Chemistry - between Kidd, RJ and Carter. A known triumvirate that I thought would be a tremendous threat in the playoffs but, somehow, failed to mesh especially when Kidd threw tantrums and asked to be traded.

Team player? - Players like VC, Iverson, Randolph, Marbury and others provide outstanding numbers but they're better off on their own. When it comes to team play, these guys show their true potential but falls short into getting their teammates involved.

Work ethic - Vince can play the way he was once before if he can instill the passion of working hard for it, and for the Nets, which is his team now. Sadly though, he has not shown it lately. Is it because of the Kidd trade? Is it the coach? Is it the system? Who knows, maybe VC thinks he's already done right after signing a $60million deal for four years.

Untradeable - If the Nets are thinking about trading him otherwise then that would be impossible. Four years for $60million is too much for a team to handle with all those qualities in question. However, if the Nets decide to tweak the team a little bit, it would be hiring a NEW coach.

Tanking - as for the team, there could be a possibility that they're not winning because they're "tanking", OR losing games deliberately to get a higher spot in the NBA Draft. Nenad Krstic would entail a lot of money so I think they're going to get 7-foot DeAndre Jordan of Texas A&M.

The DIFFERENCE BETWEEN JORDAN AND CARTER IS THAT JORDAN IS SOOOOO DRIVEN AND COMPETITIVE AND WON'T ALLOW ANYONE TO SURPASS HIM. Aside from that Jordan HAS A CONSISTENT outside game unlike Carter who'se FG% has significantly dropped!!!

To compare Jordan and Carter is like comparing apples and oranges.

Ohhh I forgot bai... I didn't think Kidd throwed tantrums... He was just frustrated with the way the Nets was playing when come to think of it, they have a really deep deep DEEP roster... Especially on Wince Carter... When he was getting triple-doubles... Carter was averaging about 16ppg not to mention a significant drop in FG %, far from his 24ppg production last season...

I mean who gets the blame? Kidd? RJ who was averaging 24.5ppg in the season?

Vince Carter just wants to play for a winner and that's one of the very reasons why he was shipped to New Jersey from Toronto. Unfortunately, things didn't go the way he wanted it, so here we are again, back in old times. VC won't get a title until he's 36 or 37 years old with that kind of attitude, that if he's still in the league.

I don't see Carter doing good even playing alongside with the league's best point guards and assists leaders like Chris Paul, Steve Nash, and Deron Williams because he wants the ball in his hands most of the time. He's not a good team player and lacks the heart of a winner. The key maybe for Carter is to surround him with a very good support cast like what Larry Brown did to Allen Iverson and the Philadelphia 76ers. The result? Philadelphia made it to the finals.

That's really right, a new coach who can motivate and change Carter's mindset.

wala pod ko mag ingon na sweto kaayo ko bball,pero no doubt ive been around it that long na kahit papaano alam ko ang pinagsasabi ko.when i compared vc to mj,ang pinagbasehan ko kasi yung kanilang mga ginagawa and tendencies to do in a game at that stage of their careers.tama ka na mj is more motivated and has better fg percentage than vince,pero hindi yun point ko e.siguro nga whinner sa in away na he should do more bcoz of his fat contract,pero wala man gud ta kabalo what's going on behind close doors kaya ingon ana iyang performance.naa man gyud ang possibility na he's really out of sync for this season kahit he's supporting cast is that good.and pag mag agi serious injury ang usa ka player naa gyud na'y minus sa iyang ability either physical or psychological..to summarize,vc is not unmotivated he's just having a awwwwwfuuulllll season.. and please try to be civilize next tym,there's no need for calling names.. o yeah they should fire lawrence frank,(imo)something's not right with him.either iyang system or iyang pagmotivate/pagcoach sa iyang mga players.
