The senators are prolonging their agony (and public exposure, should I say) when they filed their motion for reconsideration. They know too well they are not presenting new arguments or any evidence to prove that they are not abusing their power to investigate. All they are presenting are propaganda which could not stand in court.
In as much as the grant of executive privilege is an express constitutional right of the executive branch, the legislative inquiries could not be abused so as to give way to a specific right granted by a co-equal and independent branch. It would only be detrimental if the judiciary will tolerate such act of the Senate. Since they are merely using legislative inquiries to promote their own political interest, might as well give them the boundaries of their excessive use of the power granted to them. The judiciary cannot simply tolerate such.
Where are they now? Sen Lacson and Madrigal and Pimentel? what they have been doing? is there something that they are doing that is significant to the current and future problems for the country? na wagtang man lagi silas TV mau man ta na paborito nila showbiz
Jamby and Lacson are trying to act like heroes to entertain the blood thirsty mob.

Hi all,
it seems that some people questioned the SC decision favoring Neri's executive privilege. They say it is a CONSPIRACY, COVER UP, HIDING THE TRUTH... They believe (and want us to believe also) that Neri is the key to it (zte case) all...
well, no matter how they demonize that decision, there is this truth that can't be dismissed: executive privilege is the doctrine intended to protect the confidentiality of presidential communications.
just read this U.S. news article first about Pres Bush's "EXECUTIVE PRIVILEGE" version and decide for yourself... see the similarity?
Dems Fault Bush on Executive Privilege
Associated Press
By LAURIE KELLMAN – 1 day ago
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Bush's refusal to let two confidants provide information to Congress about fired federal prosecutors represents the most expansive view of executive privilege since Watergate, the House Judiciary Committee told a federal judge Thursday.
Lawyers for the Democratic-led panel argued in court documents that Bush's chief of staff, Josh Bolten, and former White House counsel Harriet Miers are not protected from subpoenas last year that sought information about the dismissals.
The legal filing came in lawsuit that pits the legislative branch against the executive in a fight over a president's powers.
The committee is seeking the testimony as it tries to make a case that the White House directed the firing of nine U.S. attorneys because they were not supportive enough of Republicans' political agenda.
The White House says such information is private and covered by executive privilege, the doctrine intended to protect the confidentiality of presidential communications.
