S2 is a good camera. its not built for rugged use though...best for studios and such...not ideal for outdoors rough use. if wala pamo system/lenses consider getting the Canon 300D or 350D...better support!
also S2 is slower and quit much older model already...

it's a pretty good camera even though it's 3-4 year old model (im not sure which), it's still pretty much in circulation. focusing is pretty slow so i suggest getting a AF-S lens if u wanna use it. colors are very vivid and saturated

one of the best dslrs to come out. if you wanna work with raw formats, it's kinda cumbersome doing it with the s2 since the bundled software is lousy, you can use photoshop cs raw converter though

i tend to disagree that it's not ideal for outdoor use, if it is, then a majority of the dslr's are

only the flagship dslr's have the weather seals fyi

if i were you, why don't you try the units you want to buy by borrowing from someone you know
