    Default Commission on Audit~ Discussion

COA a goverment agency tasked to oversee the spending on all government institutions, LGU'S and the like is on the move. That's my favorite agency but unfortunately tainted pud ni sila sa corruption. They are the eyes and ears of all the watcdogs in the government. Nganong hot kaha sila karon?

    What are your opinion guys?

The Commission on Audit should really check on spendings if Local Government Units since corruption may also occur in the local level. Of course everything starts at the bottom so there would probably be cases of corruption in the local units.

Take for example the case of the governor who will no longer push through with the promised project of cementing the road in one village because Boomboom Bautista lost in the boxing world cup. It is the duty of public officials to deliver public service and infrastructure projects. This act of the governor is otherwise. He fulfills his mandate only when his conditions are fulfilled.

we might have overlooked this gov't agency in the fight against corruption. it is one of the very important "watchdog" agencies...

if not for them, there would have been no solid cases against those involved in the CICC overpricing scandal.

if not for them, there would have been no solid cases against those involved in the Surveillance cam overpricing scandal.

if not for them, there would have been no solid cases against those involved in Computer overpricing in Mactan.

    what do u think?

hehe. pero bro dili sab nato sawayon kaning agency oi. angay ni cla respetaran. i have known this agency (at least sa region 7) almost my entire life. these auditors risk their life by exposing corruption. they even risk going to the farthest part of the NPA-infested mountain brgy's just to audit and also teach the LGU's the proper way to document their brgy income & expenses.

it seems very easy for us to spot mistakes & failures in gov't but turned a blind eye to what good they have been doing.

Quedancor has P1.4 billion in unliquidated fund; exec 'gone'

Officials from Quedancor (Quedan and Rural Credit Corp.), a government-owned and –controlled corporation (GOCC) that guarantees credit for farmers and hog-raisers, on Wednesday admitted irregularities in their multi-billion peso swine program as its president is nowhere to be found.

In Q-TV’s News on Q, reporter Maki Pulido reported that this was after the Commission on Audit discovered that P1.4 billion of the P2.5-billion fund that the company released for the swine industry remains unliquidated as of present.

“We don’t know if this amounted to only 50 million, or 100 million. At the end of the day, we’ll know," said Agriculture undersecretary Bernie Fontevilla on the alleged irregularities.

CoA also reported that four companies – Iloilo Feeds Corp., Nueva Foods Corp., BIRKS Agri-Livestock and ACL Corp. – have cornered the Quedancor deal even if they don’t have enough capital.
