To really end this discussion, I suggest a poll to define what a professional gamer is. I recommend the following ...

One that makes money from playing games that requires a certain degree of skill. Gold farming and other similar MMO services is not professional gaming as everyone with enough time can eventually achieve a goal. Content creation is also not professional gaming because the act of creating content is not gaming although the end result might be used in the game.

    In other news ...

Recalling Post #12 that I made in this thread...

"...I could be considered a professional onliner gamer..."

"could be" is the key word here. I didn't say "Hey hey I AM a content creator and you people are wrong if you said I wasn't". If I said anything contrary to this, then apologies to the proper aggrieved party are in order.

And who ever said I was arguing? I'm not here to argue. Whatever thoughts I've shared in this thread is part of my little info drive, and by participating in it Da_rock, you are actually helping me out, so I thank you very much, keep posting--the more you post, the more it helps my campaign.

Like I said, I am just taking the opportunity to let everyone know what I do, in the hope that perhaps, some people here who enjoy the idea of making money from playing games, can see that there are many other ways to make money in games other than "playing pro" (i.e. the Fatal1ty route), or "milking" (the RPG buy-and-sell route). The creativity and education potentials of a "virtual worlds route" can let parents realize that their kid is not "wasting his life away in front of a computer" and actually spending good time in the building of the future of the internet. Now mind you, before you mistake me once again, I'm NOT saying it is a superior way to make money off the 'net--I'm just showing it as an alterative route. Now is sharing information such as this all that bad? LOL

And really Da_rock, does it REALLY matter if you are interested in what I do for a living or not? If this was your thread I might reconsider. As to my recent post on "what do I do in my job", it wasn't even for you--it was for EarlZ. He was asking for an explanation, and I provided it.

    Good day

How much pride ba is too much pride? You mean to tell me it is bad to tell people about what I do in the manner I just did? And really, what is your problem that you always have to revert to insulting remarks to prove your point? I ask you--have I insulted you in any way? I certainly hope not.

Again why do you have to automatically conclude that a person who likes to share info about what he does automatically counts as bragging? Di ko magets. Yes I could PM him, but he asked this question in the thread, so I'm answering him in public. By that statement, it is clear na ayaw mo lang talaga ako magpost dito. Mukhang discriminatory ka na pre when you do that. I hope that was not your intent. Akala ko ba free boards ang iStorya boards, Vern? Does this mean if someone pressures me "pa-slide" that I do an "uh oh, I better not post again because this guy is hinting he doesn't want me to post anymore", do I have to succumb to that?

my intent is for you to get what the title means and not what you show and tell here! check the thread and not what you do... you are the first one who brought up on what you do. Too bad that sobrang pikon ka that you forgot to see what this thread is all about... and with that, its a recipe for disaster... no pun intended but seems its unlikely to share something different on the topic... if you want to share on what you do, i believe there is a 3d thread around here somewhere.

I already said "...I could be considered an professional online gamer". That was it--it wasn't a sweeping remark. And besides, the thread-starter is a friend and she knows what I do for a living, and I thought it would be interesting to share and inform other people in the thread that there are other kinds of "professional gaming". Again, if anyone here finds a fault in that, then I will admit it and give due apologies for all.

    - here is the mellow part of a typical argument... 1 party will quote on what he said on his previous post that he really didnt want to argue and he "could" just be that person etc etc... check my first post... and your reply to it...

i just find it somewhat contradicting on what you are trying say now...
