I think money can be put to better use instead of building these bridges. Sa Cebu lang mismo daghang karsada nga guba on. Fix those one first. Could you btw, how many hours drive kaha from Mactan Intl. Airport to Iloilo or Bacolod or Bohol?

Mo fly na lang ko from Manila Intl. Airport (from international flight) to those provinces instead of mag drive. Impractical kaayo. Improve na lang the ports, ensure safety of ferry services and inland roads. Mas okay pa na nga solusyon.

permi ni cya i feature sa arangkada ni leo lastimosa this pass few days i like the project
ang project kay naa paman sad sa planning stage.

and if ur talkn about the roads, as far as the province of bohol is concern they are already at 75% completion in there province circumferential road, and besides these bridges are joint projects these are not individual local projects and theres no need for askn a snail (and too much politics) support for a national support just like the SRP. the germans and the japanese are on these projects.

roads are needed to increase the accessibility of goods such as medicines for our hospitals, books for our skols, and etc. the estimated driving time from cebu to bohol is 30-45 minutes fastcraft 130-145hr slowboat 4hrs. i remember one time that a news paper ddnt arrive in tagbilaran just because na abirya makina sa barko.(kalit lang bisaya noh? ahehe) by the way the regular fare in going to bohol is 490/head . so just imagine how much time and money can u save in going to bohol if this project would push thru

this is also gud sign that despite the national (or shall we say metro manila) crisis, we can still show to the rest of the world that cebu or central visayas as a whole is not affected with that political conflict and that doing business and tourism in central visayas are still gud

one factor of becoming a great country or perhaps a compititive country is to have a road...
in ancient times, rome became great because they have roads and bridges to north(europe), to middle east(asia), and to the south(africa).
in middle ages, spain, portugal and UK became great because they have(owned) sea roads(routes)
today, US became great after WW because they have(owned) air and space roads(routes)

so instead of just blubbering on what shud be done first why not just support the project

i like the project but i'm afraid that it's not yet the most appropriate time to build these bridges. can you imagine the cost of this project? why don't we build better schools and hire more teachers so children in puplic schools throughout the nation could have better education? what about our government hospitals? don't you think it's about time for people to consider upgrading facilities and renovating the buildings? how about the horrible roads down south and in other Visayan provinces? and so the list goes on... so instead of spending a ridiculous amount for this project, why don't we attend to the country's most imediate needs first?

in my humble opinion lang po...

how about if they do repair the roads and drainage? a problem ca not be solve by another problem or they should buy a better traffic system.

imagine if theres no mandaue-mactan bridge(I & II)
    - there will be no Mactan Internation Airport
    - there will be no MEPZ
    - hangtod karon mag barge gihapon ta dng opon
    - hangtod karon mag ferry boat gihapon ta dng mactan para maka ligo dagat

imagine if there will be cebu-bohol bridge
    - i'll leave it to you

The cost at this point definitely outweighs the benefits.
These are actually the same objections raised when the second Mactan bridge was drawn-up, even when the construction of the terminal of Mactan International Airport many years ago, I can remember there was a local leader (left) who said nga dapat daw unahon this and that.....

But if ground constructions are prioritized, naa pod lain mu-ingon dapat i-prioritize ang medicines for hospitals, etc....

Actually, even with the construction of these bridges, ground developments are not set aside.... Naa gihapon improvements sa dalan even if magpadayon ang construction sa bridges...

After all "these bridges" are NOT THE PROJECT OF CEBU CITY.... These are projects of the Regional Development Council-7

Well the idea is nice, and yes I do agree that it might help boost the regional economy of Central Visayas. Specially the Cebu-Bohol link. But then again, resources are limited. There are more pending and pressing issues that needs to be addressed and where I believe money should be placed into. Hospitals, School Buildings and Roads. And I'm not talking about major highways, but provincial roads and kanang mga karasada sa barabarangay.

These are loaned money after all, which has to be paid. If people all don't know Cebu City is the LGU with the biggest debt because of SRP. Ako I honestly supported the SRP idea, too bad though gi-apilan ug politika so look what happened.

My point is, the idea of connecting Cebu to Bohol to Negros and vice versa is very noble. But I think the timing is off lang sa pagkakaron.

Lain pa'y ato. Why not construct an MRT like or subway transpo in Cebu. Kana mas kinahanglanon pa na, kay sobra na ka traffic from Southern towns to Cebu City. At least the benefit ma feel dayon sa katawhan. Here in Manila it takes you only about 20 minutes to get from North EDSA to Taft, which is roughly the distance of Colon St. to Minglanilla.

Nothing wrong with doing grand "trophy" projects, but I think more importantly we need to know what to prioritize first.
