LISTEN AND CRITIQUE: The Glorious Veins

This band is based in New York, USA and was formed about 3 months ago. What makes it relevant and significant to us Cebuanos is that their drummer is our very own local talent Lui "Wiggy" Colmenares of Squall and Johnny & the Walkers fame. The band has regular gigs in some of the cool nightspots here in Manhattan as well as in Brooklyn. They perform their own original compositions such as the songs mentioned above. They already have their sampler CD submitted to some of the music industry's top labels for perusal. Hopefully they'll get their share of fame like what thousands of hopeful bands are waiting for.... the CHANCE to showcase their talent in the grand stage.

I hope you'd spend some time listening to their music on their myspace account (The Glorious Veins) and critique their songs. Please keep in mind that they are just a newly formed group so go easy on the bashing but constructive criticism is very much welcome. Let's observe forum rules.

And there's another band in the 80's that sound comparable with The Glorious Veins. I just forgot what the name of the band was.

We'll introduce you to some of the Cebuanos in attendance and of course the band themselves. It would be the same Cebuano crowd that you have grown accustomed to, no pretensions, no air, just there for fun.

It's the same as the guys back home, same people just different zip codes.
