i'm using e398. it doesn't get much support here in cebu, but you can get a lot of info about it in the net about flashing and flexing. but my main reason for my choice is the expandable memory it has over K700i. no regrets so far.

e398 have better reviews compared to k700i. I had googled for reviews and found e398 much better thats the reason I bought one. I had flexed and updated the software and it rocks.

bro, how'd you manage to flash the phone? i'm having problems trying to connect my phone to pst and p2k. i'm using win xp, could you pm me the installation steps?

screen quality - k700i is so much better than e398
sounds and lighting - e398 wins this one hands down
ease of use - IMO k700i
form factor - k700i looks much classier.. but e398 still looks good..
applications and support - k700i

I have used both phones and I find the e983 sloooowww..

e398 is a GREAT phone (i like the sound, lights and the fact that fewer people own it than the k700i), but I still choose k700i over it :mrgreen:

btw transflash memory for the e398 is expensive and hard to find

found it otis! that is if you still have the phone (e39. first you need 3 programs (mPT,PST & p2kman) and you need to download flash and flex files. if you want, i can PM you for the full details.

FYI, just flashed my e398 to V398 v4
my observations on the new firmware:
-more stable
-faster overall GUI (no more lags when texting, answering a call, taking pics)
-improved camera quality (wala na 'tong murag circle sa tunga sa screen)
-Memory card feature unlocked (no need to buy a card reader! 300 peso savings!) therefore, i can store not just pics and music, but also office docs (power point, excel files,etc.)
-new, nicer pics and skins
-no more connectivity issues/problems with your pc
-longer battery life
-voice recording (although 1 minute only, i use it to record conversations ala "hello? hello, garci?" )
-java uploader unlocked (i.e. unlimited java apps and games download)
-better overall sound quality (very important!)
-more end user phone memory (with all the MTV crap deleted!)
-engineering menu unlocked (though i don't have any idea about it )
now unless someone can tell me they know how to change the casing, it's an overall better phone! so e398 owners, i would suggest you flash your phones with V398, but be careful ok? (especially because of the fact that it will void your warranty ). you'll get everything a phone in it's class can ever give. (except vid recording w/c they say is possible but you'll lose daw memory card ability) again, FYI.
