Default Which is recommended here in Cebu?Licensed Money Changers or Banks for Exchanges

Would you recommend me a CEBU Licensed Money Changer or a Bank to Exchange Foreign Currency?

Which is recommended? A local changer or a bank?

Gaisano Metro, SM BDO and Ayala exchanges are really small if you change your foreign currency.
Im am planning to sell my currency to these exchangers. if i buy currency or vice-versa, any other offices you could recommend me for the value of my money?

    thanks!

actually, SM BDO, and those in Ayala Metro and the one across Ratsky are OK. it is just a matter of finding which gives u a bit higher exchange rate...otherwise if u want more for your dollar, u can always try the black market.

banks are also best to buy dollars as long as u have an acct there...

another thing is correct timing and looking at forecasts. exchange rate is changing every day.

aw o, OK pud sa fuente. pero depende ra gyud bro. usahay mas gmay usahay mas dako ang fuente kaysa Ayala. usahay huna2x pud nimo ang imoha logictics ky basin 0.10 ra ang difference nya imo pa gud pletehan ug ad2. of course, if it involves a bigger amt dili gyud ka mag jeepney lang...hehe

as far as banks are concerned, it is not the rule to give the lowest exchange rates...gina-monitor na cla bro sa Central Bank...banks don't necessarily give u the lowest exchange rate. i've tried PNB & BPI once in awhile and sometimes they give higher rates as compared to any Ayala moneychangers.

kana sab ganing Western Union, if u happen to receive $ from them, taas cla ug exchange rate compared to other moneychangers.

ngano kataw-anan man bro nga cge man ko pailis sa banko (PNB, BPI, RCBC), SM-BDO, ug kanang sa Ayala Metro ug moneychangers nila nga "fair" ra man? basin sa uban tingali banko? care to elaborate?

AFAIK, if u compare kanang prevailing exchange rates sa internet vs. banks are higher at around 0.30 cents...that's normal.

as i've said earlier, kanang sa Countrymall ra gyud ang way ayo. i dunno if pareha ni cla ka way ayo sa uban like sa Gaisano Main and Gaisano Metro sa Colon.

murag imong pasabot mas lower ang banks dili higher....

BSP(Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas) rate. http://www.bsp.gov.ph/ its says 41.804 as of March 28, 2008

usually ang banks 60-80 centavos lower than BSP rate some banks 1 peso lower... kataw-anan gyud......

SM mall, Gaisano metro.... mao na 60 centavos to 1 pesos lower than BSP rate.....

    yup, BSP rate diay.

naturally, banks are a bit lower than BSP rate ky ila pa man ni duwa-on sa money-market. but 80 centavos difference is way too low and i haven't experienced that in the banks i mentioned...maybe 50-60 lang cguro. unya naa ra gyud ni sa tawo kng mat-an ka or dili.

dili sab ta kaingon nga hapit na tulis oi...we can't blame the difference ky it's natural man. unless, ikaw mismo ang mangunay ug duwa sa money-market...hehe

ako bro, i have already changed a lot of $'s in those banks for almost a decade already...i have no problems with it.

ang mas dako nga blema namong mga exporter & OFW remittance receivers bro is ang exchange rate that rapidly strengthened from 50 to 41, dili ang moneychanger.
