Try lang study sa C. Kay majority sa Programming language kay nag based sa C i.e. C++, Java, C#, Python.

For advance, try sad study ug assembly or any low-level programming para maka-hibalo pud sa mga internal process like memory management.

Delphi is more or less "Pascal with Objects", a full OOP programming language.
An advantage of Delphi is, it is easy to learn, a great language for beginner.
And, its true RAD. You can develop applications (or games) much faster then with most other languages.

I know Pascal a long time ago but ended up learning and using Java since I prefer a language that runs both in Windows and Linux and it has a native database interface to MySQL database, I don't like to use ODBC. Delphi is a great language and many say it is much easier to develop than Java.

Yes, its easier And there are mysql components which makes it quiet easy to access a mysql database.
And with kylix, you can have both works, Windows and *nix.
Anyway, this is just my opinion. Some other might like C or C++ more.
For me, its the quick development thing what keeps me at delphi, because as faster I can develop something, as more money I can make.
