it hurts... i'm one of those taxpayers and it's painful to see how a chunk of money is taken out of my paycheck every pay day, when i can use the money for something else. but no, had to pay tax, had to FEED those soldiers in IRAQ... had to pay for the frickin' war.

but really, is there much we CAN do about it? nothing but just WHINE.

You get taxed war or not.

EXACTLY. that's the main point. i GET taxed war or not. i get taxed in a WAR that cost us TRILLIONS of dollars. you'd hope this war didn't exist at all.

This is true, but if there was no war the money would (should) be spent on education, healthcare and above all, the people that paid it. That's what it is for

2freeheeler: Methinks you are spending too much time watching Youtube... Drop the "Bush is evil" rhetoric and post something more constructive that relates to the topic. How do you feel about the relatively inexperienced Senator Obama? Do you feel that he will better represent your interests if elected? Or the former First Lady, Hillary Clinton? Should her experience as the wife of a US President count as actual "experience", as she claims? Can she cut it at the helm? Please, try to post a reply without mentioning George Bush.. I think we all know where you stand on that topic na. This thread is about electing a new President and the FUTURE of the US, not a critique of previous terms of office.

Either Obama or Clinton will do a better than bush. Bush was simply a puppet for big business interests. Whatever Obama may lack in experience I think he will make up for in youth and bring in some sort of change and vitality that the USA desperately needs. Clinton I'm not so sure about and I personally would not vote for her over Obama but if it was a choice betweeen her and McCain then yes I will vote for her. I do not really support the democrats and I normally make my mind up come closer to the time. I voted for Gore when he won the election's in 2000 but did not vote in 2004. Come this November, I will vote for either Democrat. As a peace officer, I do not support their policies on law and order but feel they will do more American interests at home than the Republicans and it will be a long time before I ever vote for the Republican party!! Also, one thing i like about either of the Democrats, they seem less interested in making religion part of their election process compared to the Republicans who have to get support from the crazy religious freaks!!!

Remember, whoever is voted into power relies as much on the team behind him. Bush could'nt tie his own shoe laces without Cheney or Rumsfield saying so. I would personally rather have someone intelligent like Perot or Nader get into power than anyone from the main parties. Politicians, especially in the USA have to serve their masters i.e. who ever payrolled them to get into power.

The big problem for who ever takes over in January is the mess they are going to be left to clean up. The recession will get worse and also the war for oil. That is going to be a headache for the next President

I'm curious as to why you seem to support Bush and try to protect him as much as you do?

    Enough with the bold text.

I'm no longer a supporter of George Bush. I just feel that your relentless, rhetorical bashing of his administration is akin to America bashing, and that's not the topic of this thread. This thread is about the Democratic candidates, not George Bush. You think McCain is too old.. fine. I think that he appears to be focused and sharp, even if I disagree with his policy on Iraq. BUT, his patriotism and courage are proven, unlike the Dem candidates. How do you feel about the Democratic hopefuls? Do they possess the courage to make things better? Our soldiers are there and it's easy to criticize how and why they got there. Can Obama rescue us with charisma? What about Hillary? You're assigned to Patrol Division at the moment? Where?

I'm not sure how you make me out to be America Bashing. Just because I critisize the current regime. I serve my country the same way the military do in a foreign country.

I think either Obama or Clinton will serve America's purpose better than McCain. Despite what he did years and years ago when we invaded another country for no reason. This is 2008, the 21st century, we are living in, not the past. If either of the Democrat hopefuls have the courage to pull us out and put a UN peace keeping force in their then I'm behind them.

Even though it's not relevant to the topic a precinct in the Bay area
