    which takes me to the conclusion that due to oil price hikes and the adverse effects that it has on the price of commodities, we might have to raise taxes considering the absolute and reasonable needs for it.?with the oil prices getting higher each time, our nation won't be able to sustain itself having the same revenue.
    Im not an economist. Â*But I dont view people as passive elements in economics. Raise taxes and you cannot deny the fact that it will result to higher prices which the people can no longer afford.

    Government prefers EVAT because it taxes all poor and rich alike. Â*I dont think that at this crucial moment VAT should be resorted by the government. Â*Its a risk. Â*

    All I care about is the people who will suffer.

    well, an economist knows better on how to run the country.Â* probably why we'd rather have economists than soap stars.

    I hope your response should be limited to the VAT or this will degenerate into another GMA cheerleading thread.

    hey peeps.. ingon sil na everyday MILLION MILLION daw ang na-lugi/nawagtang sa pinas??
    i forgot kinsa to siya ang niingon, i saw it on the news last night..

    ngano kaha diba bag.o lang na activate ang EVAT then nawagtang tungod sa kaso... then that guys is saying because nahunong ang EVAT nawagtangan/nalugi ang pinas og MILLION2x kuno.. day diba ang EVAT kay ipuno sa tax then ilang gipahunong ang EVAT ra.. so meaning mas dako pa diay ang nalugi nato before sa EVAT then why blame it sa paghunong sa EVAT?
    well correct me if im wrong..
    _______________
    @PissKhanXXX
    yup he maybe blaming GMA for the EVAT, coz kinsa man jud ang gusto sa EVAT GMA, and most of the poor pinoys are against it...
    _______________
    before nila i.apply ang EVAT, cguro pun.an gamay ang sweldo sa pinoys.. kay like i said, their salary is just enough for them, kung patungan sa EVAT then unsaons nalang ani..
    then now the Drivers of PUJ's said that they want a higher Fare, then kinsa maapektuhan?? kita rasad.. mahal na kaayo ang pliti then patas.an pajud.... in some case maybe EVAT is good but still they should think about the other people's Economic Status or do further study of the poor people's lives..

    the Supreme Court's order restraining its implementation of expanded VAT "has saved the President from the anger of the people."

    we welcomed the court order because the E-VAT has worsened the public's burden.

    i believed that if the E-VAT implementation was not stopped by the high court, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo would have faced the people's wrath.

    since the very start, E-VAT's passage, insisting that it would trigger an increase in prices of basic goods and services.
