    you do not know what you are talking about.

    General Knowledge 101

    LPG = Petroleum = Oil

    oil is an imported necessity that we acquire.Â* being consumers, we do not have control over price hikes.Â* now, it seems like you are blaming the administration for the balloon of oil prices.

    what next? blame them for the death of your neighbour's cat?

    Incremental Cost of Petroleum products is being determined partly with the taxes imposed locally.. PGMA must direct it's effort not on imposing new taxes which is definitely an added burden for us, an added insult to injury, but rather on improving tax collections, minimizing, if not totally eradicating, tax evasion, instead of tax minimization and clearing out collecting agencies and government entities responsible for tax administration from corrupt officers..

    is the increment due to high taxes or the other way around? i do not have a degree in economics but the way i understand it, it is oil that affects everything.

    you have a very valid point as to curbing corruption. that is what we want of an ideal government. trouble is, it is close to impossibility trying to get rid of some nasty people in office.

    petroleum products are major inputs in many industries, prices of other basic commodities and services are expected to change depending on price fluctuations.. however, with the imposition of the new vat law, which is by nature a business tax imposed and collected from the seller in the course of trade or business "and" an indirect tax, thus, it can be passed on to the buyer.. unfortunately, almost all of them resorted to do it.. can't blame them, though, as a businessmen, my paramount concern is to get the best return of my capital investment.. the recent increase in petroleum products can be obviously associated to the imposition of the new vat law, the fact that prices were even reverted when it was temporarily suspended..

    ihate to concur with your statement bro, but PGMA should have considered that option as their last resort.. promoting tax minimization and credit could be one option though.. it is unfair that we common people carrying the burden brought about by their inefficiencies.. we are already giving much of our share.. and have we get our share’s worth? i don’t care though if i have to give them half of my salary so long as i could see significant benefits from it.. as long as our officials will not tackle the very thing that’s causing all of these, then we can look forward to another amendments on tax law in no time.

    again maybe E-VAT might be good. per computation we lose P45B monthly if we will not impose E-VAT.

    which takes me to the conclusion that due to oil price hikes and the adverse effects that it has on the price of commodities, we might have to raise taxes considering the absolute and reasonable needs for it.Â* with the oil prices getting higher each time, our nation won't be able to sustain itself having the same revenue.
