aw..ok tnx a lot!
Most of us are genetically predisposed for that, pero that's all there is to it, basta careful lang jud ta. Adult-onset diabetes or what they call, type 2 diabetes, absolutely can be avoided basta healthy living lang jud. The key is really diet. What we eat is very important. We must be careful not to overload our bodies with sugar to the point where we develop insulin resistance, or what they call, "prediabetes", kay anha na mag sugod tanan.
korek gyud c mariox.
akong papa naa sad diabeties. year 2006 mas worst na to kay affected na iyang eyes.
kadto nga time cge lang sad ko ug reseach about ana nga sakit then i found out a supplement called"Milgamma". suppliment na cya tungod kay vitamins b12
I dunno kung available na ba ni sa pinas pero palit ko permi sa europe(di na kinahanglan ug resita sa doktor) though strict kaau ang pharmacy nila didto also available in US. mao na iyang gi-inom good for 3 months 2 tablets a day after 3 months naay improvement ang iyang mata..2 months pa lang in-take sa akong papa cge na cya reklamo kay wla ghapon epekto kadto nga tambal pero later on maau ang result. mas cheaper lang ang gastos ani nga tambal compare sa kadtong mga tawong nag-intake na ug insulin.
exercise every morning, extra careful sa food . eat more oatmeal, veggies, less lang ang meat unod lang(wla apil ang tambok or skin) and fish. if possible steam lang ang veggies and fish. use olive oil if possible. no sweets.
always monitor blood sugar.
avoid simple carb (google simple carbs) foods... softdrinks... those that had been heavily processed.
exercise. whether cardio or strength exercise imo ganahan basta exercise lang gyud
my father is so conscious CHARANTIA tea ra iya inom
if naa na jud na inyu blood dili na nimo ma avoid.. maybe lessen the chances of having diabetes cguro....
limit tamis nga foods kai mao jud ni kusog au maka daot sa ato health
that is hereditary and the only way to control is by lifestyle modification. depends on what type of diabetes you have.
look for a partner na walay kaliwat na diabetic
this is just plain mean...huhuhuhu!Originally Posted by ursoman

dad controlled his diabetes with a diet.
in dad's case he was under strict diet for diabetes as well as something else so his rice was limited to a cup and he went on a fish and vegetable diet, then vegetarian then back to fish and vegetable. also his food had no salt, sugar or oil. he was using flaxseed oil. mixed on vegetables not cooked. seasoning were liquid aminos and apple cider vinegar. all foods were boiled, broiled or steamed. also fresh fruits were limited since they contain natural sugars. especially some more than the others.
dad was on medication for a long time until he had to switch to insulin shots due to liver damage and had to do diet at the same time which caused his blood sugar to drop so much allowing him to reduce dosage and later when that was not enough to quit medications. he monitored his blood sugar several times a day too.
insulin shots is better than oral medication because it does not pass through your liver so less stress on the liver.
still don't rely on insulin, and go thinking its okay to eat your sweets, like my uncle's wife because in the end she lost her eyesight.
diabetes also caused a male cousin to be IMPOTENT. Now guys you don't want to lose your manhood do you?
and a female cousin became sterile. now ladies you don't want it either do u?
of course not to mention the possible of losing your limbs and eyesight.
anyway, the thing is if it's just diabetes it's easier to control compared to when paired with other complications. if you can avoid all sorts of sugar so much the better but i know somtimes its imposssible but do keep it at minimal and not all the time. it's not advisable to get rid of carbs completely as your body needs it for fuel. just make sure that you do get your exercise even if its just 30mins of movement each day. but do not and take note DO NOT use exercise as an excuse in allowing yourself to eat your sweets.
i'm not diabetic yet. or as far as i know. i did use to check my blood sugar from time to time. my blood sugar had the tendency to shoot up as it was in the genes but lucky me it was still within the normal though nearing borderline. if my siblings and i kept our lifestyle before we're guaranteed to be diabetic. although we don't completely remove all sweets we have just lessened our intake by a lot. 4-6bottles a day to probably about 10 in a year. ice cream friends brought over can get stored in our freezer for weeks or even months that my friends get shocked when they come back. similar thing with chocolates. a friend gave me a box of belgian chocolates (about 24pcs) upto now there are still about 6 pcs left. rice intake has dropped too. basically our food choices has gone healthier reduced fats, sugar free, less sugar and etc....
the idea here is that if we can do it then so can you! no need to wait until you get sick.
