Holy Week break security alert on
MANILA, Philippines -- Police and military are set to go on alert for the Holy Week break, security officials said Tuesday.
Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesman Senior Superintendent Nicanor Bartolome said Tuesday the entire 125,000-strong national police force will go on heightened alert status starting noon on Wednesday.
Bartolome said the alert status will “ensure the availability of personnel and resources for public safety and security operations.”
A heightened alert status means half of the police force will have to stay at their post at all times.
