    all about rice farming............

    cost per hectare (maintenance)
are you referring to a price/hectare or operating cost sum-up with maintenance? if you ask about the price/hectare, then it all depend if the land is well irrigated. Sa amoa ang usa ka hectare with irrigation, tenant & titled land it cost 1KK - 1.5KK from a broker and if you are going to buy a vast of land then the price/hectare is much cheaper

    sacks per hectare(havest)
there is no simple answer to this?, # of sacks per harvest/hectare dependent on rice variety, planting, fertilizing, water supply, climate & etc. If you insist for a figure, you can start with 120 sacks/hectare on a normal planting to harvesting and water supply are well taken off.

    time required before harvest
It boil down to rice variety, if my memory serve me right a mean of 130 days with a min of 120 days & max of 140 days from different rice variety. Try to search google for further info.

    price per sack
a bit tricky for a trader, price subject to weather condition & law of supply & demand. Late February price range from 430 Php - 440 Php per sacks (tipasi) then mid of march supply saturated the market so it drift to 410 Php - 430 Php then as supply start to diminished it spike up to 450 Php - 470 Php.

    asa i baligya ang harvest(NFA?)
if you like to settle for a less price then NFA is suitable on your case. If you are looking for a market price then sell your throughput to the rice trader. Don't put much worry for this subject, there is such thing as canvasser. He/She will take care your product at a rice price.

    posible income per hectare
    best condition so far............. 160 (sacks) X 470 Php = 75,200 Php

    Hope it helps.........

    Sir Battouter,

Lets equate illegal rice to our very basic supply & demand. Do you think illegal rice (produce from Thailand, Vietnam, China & etc) can supply the entire nation? Take note that its illegal an only entry point by bulk that we can think-off is through our harbor. BTW, a friend of mine told me that scarcity of illegal rice was experience lately unlike Erap & Ramos administration (i'm not pointing out how administration handle there job but its all about the climate in SEA region that we experience). You may also consider that our fresh harvested palay is par excellence compare to illegal rice. Rice consumer are smart & too picky when it comes to quality. If you are a retailer, you can sold a few kilos and don't bother to think if they don't come back to buy again.

If you are talking about illegal rice through hijack, by all means its just a tip of an iceberg with respect to our demand.

@kalinaw,battouter thx for the info and suggestions.

(still dont know kong suitable ba sa rice farming) basta gi gamit to siya sa rubber plantation saona it was supposed to be 300hecs(sa akong lolo) but then na CARP man ang uban pag kapatay sa akong lolo T_T. so mga 5hecs nalng nabilin taga igsoon sa akong papa nga side.

our plan is 3hecs rice while ang remaining 2hecs, fruit trees since it takes time for fruit trees 4-5yrs(can anyone confirm this) b4 harvesting. any suggestion sa pag divide sa land?

i have more questions for rice farming..

    - onsa kaha nindot i tanom nga fruit trees? my mom is planning to plant mangosteen, and mangos, any other fruit trees nga dali ra ma halin?

I think its good idea to diversify your land pero kung sa akoa na. As usual it takes skills para taas ang injong yield which mean you need to buy some time para sa continous improvement.

asa mas better na i baligya ang (tipasi) or ang processed na nga rice?
If you have sari-sari store then eh dispose nalang didto & for sure daku ang imong ROI. I believve additional 10% nga kita kung imong eh retail ang bugas compare to eh baligya nimo by bulk ang tipasi. Somehow deli maigo ang imong supply for once cycle sa imong 3 Ha nga throughput assuming 2 sacks a day imong sale rate.

onsa nga variety nga nindot i tanum
Daghan gyud kaajong pag pilian & depende pod sa land condition. I know RC-18 can sustain a dry cycle with high yield but interm of quality i prefer hybrid rice known as bigante pero medyo mahal ne sya sa market..... yummy yummy alisngaw pa lang sa imong binukal inig luto humot na kaajo. Medyo lisod ne pangitaon nga tipasi pero i'm lucky enough nga nakapalit ug 28 sacks. So nag sample ko ug 8 sacks of tipasi nga akong gipagaling then ako pod nga gi introduce sa akong mga suki sa retail. Guess what? kadtong carenderia nga naka palit ug hybrid after few days ija ng gi pa stop ang pagbaligya sa akong hybrid instead ija ng gi reserve para ijaha. Well at good price how can you resist.

i know kadtong deli hybrid nga mga bugas adto rapod sila mokuha sa ilang ani para binhi-on while kadtong hybrid adto kasa DAR mo palit, i believe 1.7K Php/sacks (50 kls) ang presyohan

i think ok ra basin ang land kai naa mandaw "tubod" dapit sa among yuta.. mangita pami og taga DAR para mo inspect..
so ang hybrid diay nindot "bigante". for starters mas nindot basin tong dili sa hybrid para maka study/improve sa og tarong without sacrificing too much(sakto ba?).

    - before i forget mga pila ka sacks ang ma gamit sa 1 hectar?

p.s. this is really helpful info mr. kalinaw

katong naa pai mga ideas share sad mo.

before i forget mga pila ka sacks ang ma gamit sa 1 hectar?
pasensya na bro gi try gyud nakung recall sa akong alimpatakan neng info ha kaso wala gyud mogawas. Mura gi na-anod man tingali kauban sa tungog . Anyway i'll try to answer your ? once ako nang mahinumduman.

    Sir SPRINGFIELD_XD_40,
Sakto ka this is an old rule back on 60's -70's edicted by DAR or different govt. agricultural body and now naana tay laing approach. Its a win-win solution between farmers & landlords.

Ajaw pa sa-upi ang imong juta, instead look for a skilled individual who know how to take care your farm (pre-production to harvest) and then shoulder all expenses (e.g. land prep, seeds, planting, insecticides, fertilizing, grass removal/maintenance). By the time you harvest your palay, triser folks will take care the harvest cutting 17% of your gross yield then 10% goes to your katiwala then the remaining % goes to the financer & landlord.
