Probably. I'm assuming, he is your dependent and you do have papers to back your claim I'm assuming. You should probably be asking someone with more authority instead of a forum when it comes to doing taxes especially if you are dealing with a sizable deduction.

I don't do Philippine taxes, but I have recently done my US taxes and it would be logical to say that they would be similar.

the difference between a single and that of HOF is only P5,000... as allowable deduction sa imong gross receipts/income....

ie: Gross income for the year (20,000*12)=240,000 240,000
less: allowable deduction (single) 20,000 HOF 25,000
    ------------- -------------
    taxable income 220,000.00 215,000.00

most probably in a year ... murag 1,600-1700 pesos imong savings(take note: in a year ra na)

anyway, dali rana .. just have an update form nga makuha nimo sa BIR (3copies).... nya attached the live birth sa imo anak... have that form signed first sa inyong payroll incharge most often sa accounting department ...after , ipareceive na nimo sa BIR(stamped)...
hand it back to your payroll incharge/acctng para ma-update pod ang ilang i-withhold tax (which is lesser now) sa imo, nya retain 1 copy for personal file..

actually, kon imo unta na nabuhat pag December pa lang, dako unta ka tax refund...since it is retroactive basis (assuming last year is naa na imong baby)... meaning ilang giwithold sa imo starting january until december of last year, ma refund sa imo mga january 15th mostly..

Birth Certificate ray important bro. Ako pag sulod nako sa ako first job, naka declare man ko as Head Of The Family knowing that Im still single ato nga time. Ang requirement ra sa BIR para ma Head Of The Family is kanihanglan less than 18 yrs old imo i declare na dependents. No idea yet if pwd ba i dependent ang Senior Citizen. Requirements nila is Birth Certificate sa imo dependent that support that your dependent is less than 18 yrs old.

In my case, ako gihimo na dependent kay ako manghud since less than 18 yrs old man siya then wala pasad siya na declare as dependent sa ako maguwang ug ako Parents sa ila Tax.
