Awwww. Look at what our Champion of Catholicism is reduced to.

    Such is life.

Dude, no matter how many of these copy-and-paste or Googled text you show us, you will not change the fact of the Church's track record of suppressing freedom of critical thought. Your dogma simply shows this -- logic based on the actions of a bunch of disciples who both write The Word and built a Church based on their own writings then claimed authority to govern and speak for The Man on the basis of these same writings which they themselves penned.

Now that is a conflict-of-interest if I ever saw one and a circular argument at best.

Of course when you have a whole constituency of poor, huddled, ignorant, and rapidly multiplying souls, such logic is an easy sell.

well benigno... our religion teaches us to be afraid of committing the act(artificial birth control) and doing such an act is a great sin.... the church only recognizes the rythym method.... the only problem is that the method is not 100% effective....that is why many children are on the streets cause their parents were not ready... if only the church will be more open to other methods like the artificial ones... cause people know are just into *** not the sacred part of it...

now which is more of a sin....
commiting such an act ?or not be able give a child a brigther future?

ps: benigno are you a proffesor cause your really wierd.........

Nope, not a professor. But thanks for the compliment.

See, that's all I'm asking really. Why can't the Church, or its handful of proponents who are prone to zealotry be a bit more open? One asks simple questions and one gets thrown rafts of copied-and-pasted text at.

    Tsk tsk.

other overpopulated countries don't blame their church or religion because of thier overpopulation.

it all boils down to self discipline and having a sense of responsibilty. just because the church is telling you its a sin to use these contraceptives , you wont use it ? c'mon , the church teaches us not to lie , but we do it , it teaches us not to steal or cheat , but we still do it .
we do it because we have our own will , more than anything else. stop passing the buck , a lot of people still use contraceptives , but if the condom burst or the wife missed the pill , if they have more children than they can afford , its the church's fault .

i won't blame my mom if i burned the pie that 'I' baked.

Let us suppose now a man in Mandaue City who wants to go to Lapu Lapu, but takes a jeepney for Cebu; the drivers asks for his pesos and where he is going, and the passenger says, “ I am going to Lapu Lapu.” The drivers says "You are in the wrong jeepney; this jeepney is for Cebu, but you are going to Lapu Lapu." "Well, what of that?" Says the passenger. "I mean well." "Your meaning will not go well with you in the end," says the driver, "for you will come out at Cebu instead of Lapu Lapu."

You say you mean well; your meaning will not take you to heaven; you must do well also. "He that doeth the will of My Father," says Jesus, "he alone shall be saved." There are millions in hell who meant well.

This is the reason why some of us just cant be "open"

Yet another false charge against the Church. If your igniorant assertion were true, then why is the Church doing so much to educate peopel? It does more than most governments. It would not make sense for the Church to try to eliminate that which it supposedly benefits from. Oh, but then I suppose you conveniently forgot that too. SUCH IGNORANCE!

If the quoted text answers the question or proves your argument wrong, I don't see anyhting wrong in that. You seem to have this uncontrollable urge to stroke your ego with "original" text.

Bwahaha!!! SUCH IGNORANCE OF HISTORY. The Catholic Church is one of the greatest proponents of critical thought, despite the fact that some of its peopel have been poor examples of it. It's record is far better than that of any other movement. Without Thomas Aquinas, Augustine, the many monks who preserved ancient writings, etc., critical thought and even plain literacy would have been set back hundreds of years.

Certainly the Church's record of promoting critical thought is far better than yours since you can't even follow logical principles. Just look at all the logical fallacies you've committed thus far!

TOUCHE! Good one. Yet another one of benign0's pretentious assertions goes to the bottom.

None of the artificial methods are 100% effective either. And many of them have side effects. And ALL of them promote promiscuity and escape from responsibility since they can be used without commitment to another person. Today some of these are even promoted as "fun" and "stylish".

In contrast, the natural methods have no side effects whatsoever. And since they need commitment and practice to be effective, they promote commitment between husband and wife.

Dude, I think your pal above already demonstrated this lack of any pre-disposition to openness which presupposes critical thought. Maybe it's really you and your pal bisaya70 that need to get things straight.

Tough luck. Yet another example of the inconsistency spawned by dogmatic tyranny.

No wonder the only people religious zealots impress are ignorant and backward societies.
