“We’re not at the same level we were at last year at this time, even though we seem to be situated relatively well in the West,” Popovich said. “This team isn’t as good as last year’s team. We have significant improvement that we have to make both mentally and physically if we’re going to be able to contend for the championship.”

Houston won their 18th straight game by defeating the New Orleans Hornets. The win moved the Rockets to the 4th spot in the Western Conference. The Rockets became the sixth team in the NBA to win at least 18 straight games joining the Los Angeles Lakers (2 times), Milwaukee, Boston, Chicago, and New York.
A quality win for my other "manok"....Suns win over the Spurs 94-87 Shaq with 14 pts and 16 rebounds. Scoring was very balanced .
Suns won over the Spurs. The Suns played virtually with only 7 players with Gordan Giricek being the 8th but played only for a little less than 5 minutes. 6 Suns scored in double figures and has finally found an answer to their dilemma in the past games. The Suns outrebounded the Spurs 52-40 and limited the defending champions to only 87 points after allowing 126 in each of their last two games.
Steve Nash -- 19 points, 14 assists
Amare Stoudemire -- 16 points, 11 rebounds
Shaquille O'Neal -- 14 points, 16 rebounds
Phoenix still managed to win even though the Spurs shot better and more behind the three point arc and at the free throw stripe.
