btw, why don't you buy a commercial board like vBulletin or Invision and open up another site... it will greatly help the cebuano community to have another alternative.

vBulletin is actually a very good forum application - yes you have to pay for it but the built-in features will more than pay for the initial cash-out you'll be spending. if you want, sir, i can set-up a vB board you can test - i'll give you full admin rights over it so you can test it to your hearts delight, or create other admin accounts if you want the other admins here to test it too - i'll even host it at my own server - i'd gladly do this because i like istorya, the community. i recently even sold something over it. and featurewise, SMF just seemed too lacking. just PM me and i can have it ready in minutes. who knows, maybe the sites investors will like vB and decide to buy it.*

i have other suggestions too by the way, but it kinda got buried among the noise. it'd be cool to at least know some of the decision makers have at least read it.

2 features i'd like to have w/c vB already has:

* be able to set the number of posts displayed per page. the present default of 25 posts per page is good and all if your using a dial-up connection, or have a screen resolution of 800x600, but some of us prefer reading all posts in a thread in just one go than having to keep loading 4 pages @ just 25 posts per page.

this other one, even phpBB already has, but SMF seems to have missed:

* check out the "Notify" button - clicking it lets you subscribe to a thread, that is, you get emailed everytime a new post is made on the thread. logically, the button shouldn't say "Notify" anymore if your already subscribed to the thread. with SMF, the button will still remain the same, i.e., will still say "Notify". with phpBB or vB, the link becomes "unsubscribe". pretty useful for quickly determining whether you're already subscribed to a thread or not, and/or quickly unsubscribing if you no longer want to receive the alerts. with SMF, you have to go to your profile page to remove the notification.

there are prolly plenty of other stuff too, but it's these 2 i miss

I dont like the color change.. too drastic. from bright colors to grayish industrial/metallic theme.
but after what, 6-8 hours of browsing...my eyes are getting used to it. but again, it strains my eyes too much.

I like the old look... but i guess will get used to it..

search engine is better now unlike the old istorya.. i just have problem looking for my posts.... after i click "mark as read"... how does it work? can seem to find my old posts for updates.. tsk tsktsk... or di pa lang ko kamao?

I cannot use a custom avatar. how can I customize my avatar.
Like the istorya before I can just put a link of the avatar

but now I can
only choose from your gallery of avatars and I dont like the pics in your avatar gallery. and your upload an avatar doesn't work.
