Admins, Mods: If there's one thing Hotmail learned, it is that "People don't want change". The massive changes in their UI (user interface) greatly alienated lots of their subscribers (i don't have a link handy to support my claim, but if any of you used to be Hotmail users, you prolly liked the old interface better and to this day, still hate the new interface right?).

To those who use Yahoo! email - ever noticed that Yahoo! introduces changes very, very slowly? One button change at a time, changing font colors and CSS definitions at a time spread over a long period of time. Same principle, people don't want change. People don't want to re-learn stuff they have already learned before.

With that said, here are my comments with the new design.

(*) the new buttons, layout, I can live with - but only prolly because I am very familiar with almost all online forum software*, and know where to expect most functions to be placed. the user who has only tried the the old istorya phpBB interface may get lost though.

(*) the font color used in the threadlist / threadindex page is plain terrible! the color is too light compared to the background, you have to strain your eyes to read the thread titles.


this last one is forums specific:

(*) with the board now powered by Simple Machines, I, and maybe lots of other users here, we're hoping that you can introduce sub-categories already, or sub-forums. you've prolly noticed too that in the Classifieds forum, threads get pushed to page 2 or 3 in a matter of minutes because of the high number of listings and traffic. because of this, some sellers tend to bump their posts too much, degrading the boards overall signal-to-noise ratio. i.e., out of the 250 something posts some sellers have, more than 50% are prolly *bump* posts.

INXS: for the Classifieds forum, may i suggest the following subcategories/subforums:

* Computers
* Electronics
* Cars / Bikes
* Pets and Hobbies
* Apartments / Rooms / Real Estate
* Misc (for everything else)

thats based on my observation that a great bulk of the things sold here @ istorya falls under the first 4 categories i mentioned.
