You're right. He continues to engage in an obvious logical error. It is known as an Argument from Ignorance (argumentum ad ignorantiam)

Well, what is morally right obviously prevails over effectiveness. The Church could never be and ought never be open to birth control, which really means "Less birth and no control", or is it "No birth and no control" nowadays?
