It doesn't matter. After all, Erap's time is already done ever since the Supreme Court decided on it.

What we should be concerned of is the matters of the present and not of the past. As the issues on charter change is now overwhelming, it was pointed out that six out of ten Filipinos now are in favor of the parliamentary shift, we might as well hear this kind of survey because it will largely affect us in the near future.

This is better rather than lurk back to the time of Erap and his trustworthiness kuno.

Estrada pal claims Velarde assets

The Sandiganbayan convicted Estrada of plunder last September 12 and ordered the forfeiture of more than P700 million in ill-gotten assets as well as the “Boracay mansion” in Quezon City.

The assets, held in trust in Banco de Oro-EPCI Inc. (formerly Equitable PCIBank), are being claimed by “plastics king” William Gatchalian’s Wellex Group Inc. The company maintains that the loan it took out from the account in 2001 has been settled with the account owner.

Estrada has repeatedly denied owning the controversial account, and has pointed to businessman Jaime Dichaves, a correspondent in his plunder case, as its owner.

Early this week, the Sandiganbayan gave Sheriff Edgardo Urieta the green light to forfeit in favor of the government over P500 million worth of assets in the account.

The amount covers P189 million, with interest and income earned, deposited in the “Jose Velarde” account, and P545.3 million, with interest and income earned, inclusive of P200 million deposited in the name and account of the Erap Muslim Youth Foundation.

We could not say who has greatly caused more damaged to the country. There are facts which are hidden from the Filipino people. We are just watchers on the game played by the government officials. Watchers who should have chosen wisely during election period.
