have you tried opening a 7MB html file in dreamweaver?
I posted this topic at Macromedia Dreamweaver Forum :

    Hi Nelgraine,
Dreamweaver renders all the graphics on your page thats why you are having this trouble. Either at this moment you can just open the html in notepad and edit the file or you can try this workaround:
Just rename your Images folder and you will be able to open the html file. After editing change the name back to what it was.

Dreamweaver may have other options to your problem but I do not know that.

Why in the world would anyone have a 7MB HTML file. That means something
is tragically wrong with their design. My guess is that only a Microsoft
Office program could spit something like that out.

you aren't using that on a live server
are you? I doubt anyone would wait to see your pictures. Why do you have
    a 7mb web page?

Default Dreamweaver cant open a 7MB html file

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! 7MEGA BYTES of HTML even the entire dictionary (word web) is only 9MB in size(not pure text).

WE all wonder how it reached to 7 Megabytes maybe its not a sole html it includes all the dependent files on it?

emperically speaking, i have an experince with a 400kb HTML file. and yes, its HTML file.. the size came to the bloated figure bec it is consisted of 8,000 lines of HTML. around 500 "drop down form fields".. AND in my entire html life.. thats the biggest html file i ever had. waaaaaaaaaaaah!

a work around i did bec with 400kb of html file opening it with DW.. will really crank DOWN the speed of my pc.. what i did? i resorted to FP instead.. yes too bad for me. i ended up editing the form fields via FP.

    just my thoughts.
