The New Orleans Hornets acquired swingman Bonzi Wells and guard Mike James in a trade that sent veteran guard Bobby Jackson to Houston.
The trade involved three teams. The Hornets also sent rookie guard Adam Haluska and second-year forward Marcus Vinicius to Houston, then Houston sent Vinicius, the rights to Malick Badiane and cash to Memphis in exchange for the rights to Sergei Lishouk.
The Hornets also received cash from Houston so that the combined salaries of James and Wells would not exceed Jackson’s salary by more than the NBA mandated threshold of 25 percent.

"People in the West are getting stronger because of the Spurs,'' Kevin Garnett told USA Today. "The Spurs are the best team in the league. You don't have to go by records; they're the champions. Phoenix made their move because of the Spurs. I think the Lakers made their moves because of the Spurs.''
'Nuff said.
^^And with the Lakers and Suns getting a lot stronger, the Spurs made their own moves.
