HDMI should cover video and audio, or nothing at all. Have you tried Settings - Audio Settings - Manual - then choose HDMI on your PS3?

make sure to check only the Stereo settings in the HDMI basin naka 5.1 or higher ang setting na dili madawat sa TV

I think you should check both the settings of your tv and the PS3. In the ps3, try setting the audio to hdmi and the automatic (not manual).

OK guys, nag plano ko ug palit ug PS (either 2 or 3) pero ang PS3 sige santing sa ako mind. patabang unta ko naa lang ko mga questions.

1. if mo palit ko ug PS3 diri sa Itech Maze ayala, Asia na siya? Will US games play on Asian PS3?
2. wa man ko, LCD TV ok ra ba? need ba jud ang LCD tv? if oo gani di nalang siguro ko mo palit

hinaot matabangan ko ninyo. if naa pa mo lain info maka tabang mas maayo. salamat.

Nwy, here goes...

1. Yes, Asian ang PS3 sold in itech. PS3s are region-free and you can play any version of the game on any PS3. (I have an Asian PS3 and 80-90% of my games are US version. No problems what so ever.)
*Note: There is only one issue regarding this though. Resistance: Fall of Man (one of the first PS3 games) has an issue regarding versions. It has been noted (I also noted this.) that you can't go online with a US Resistance on an Asian (HK) PS3. You can still play this offline though. The reason for this is that developers at that time didn't know that an Asian (HK) PS3 is going to be released and there was network code issue some how regarding going online. However, the developers seem to have updated the network code in the Asian Resistance that addressed this issue. So, if you plan to go online with Resistance, you got to get the Asian Resistance for your Asian PS3. This is only in applicable in the stated game and all other games currently available have no similar issue.

2. No, PS3s doesn't require you to have an LCD TV in order to play. You can always use your old SDTV (iTech just even use a small ordinary SDTV for testing the PS3.) However, you'll only be able to play games on 480i resolution. How good or bad is it? Actually if you haven't played on an LCDTV (HDTV), you actually won't notice it. It actually looks good even on ordinary TV. The graphics definitely is far from PS2 even on SDTV.
*Note: Here's the thing. Some people actually started on SDTV then saved up some money to get an LCDTV / LCD Monitor. If you don't have alot of cash, you can actually opt for an LCD Monitor. They're getting really cheaper lately. If you scan the latest post in this forum we are actually talking about LCD monitors and what kind do you need to buy.
