hahahaha well for me im gonna wait and see if they can make it all the way this time.... but i doubt it.... the trend will continue that they are not gonna get 2 titles in a row.. but if they are all healthy come crunch time they might pull it off.

First off, nobody's offended here. This is what you call a healthy discussion. I don't think you see anybody dissing or calling you names, do you?

Uhm, 'scuse me, but doesn't being consistent have to be in a long span of time? So you're telling me that winning back-to-back titles (example Rockets, 2 out of 9 = 22%) is the epitome of consistency, while winning 4 out of 9 seasons, roughly 45% of the time they're winning championships, aside from the fact that since 1999 they are - as what basketball analysts dub "consistent/perennial playoff/championship contenders", is NOT consistency?

Anyways, you're entitled to your opinion. We're all just fans here. I'm just glad that people like yokam, despite the fact that he constantly reminds us that the Spurs are old, old, and too old to run w/ his Suns (and yet they can't get past them in the playoffs.. ehehehe shamless plug ), still give respect to where respect is due. Yes, the Suns are stronger now w/ Shaq; the Lakers look formidable with Pau and Andrew in line; and now the Mavs (almost) have J-Kidd in tow. But the fact remains that these teams shook their lineups because THEY KNOW THAT THEY CANNOT BEAT THE SPURS w/ their old rosters. And that's just the bible truth. :mrgreen:

At 34-17, an almost identical record as last year's 35-18 at the All-Star break, you might conclude the Spurs are on the right path in defending their championship.

Let's compare numbers and circumstances between now and a year ago:

The Spurs have won six of seven and went 6-3 on their "Rodeo Trip." Last year, they went 4-4 on the monster trip and entered the break having lost four of seven. Advantage: 2008.

The Spurs are coming off a road win over the defending Eastern Conference champs, Cleveland. They did the same thing last year, except it was at Detroit. Advantage: tie.

The Spurs have the fifth-best record in the West, meaning if the playoffs started today, they would not have the home-court advantage in Round 1.

hahaha all i can say is wait. huwat lang ta sa result ani. if the spurs or the suns ang mag hari sa west.. its run and gun versus the defense oriented spurs(bruce bowen)..... tsk tsk tsk... sa east murag pwede pa ang heat ahahahaha pwede pa sa next years playoff if they can get a legit big center
