Jason Kidd was on his way to Dallas along with Malik Allen and Antoine Wright for Jerry Stackhouse, Devin Harris, Devean george, Desagana Diop, Ager, 2 1st round picks, 1 2nd round pick and cash....until Devean George exercised his veto rights as stipulated on his contract...Will we see Kidd really going to Dallas?
It might. Devean George exercised his right to go against the trade because he's still waiting for agent Mark Bartelstein to hear all the details about the trade. Maybe if the trade will sound right for George then the trade might push through.

It was reported that George have previously informed Dallas about his intent to be traded if his playing time won't increase. But if ever such trade will not push through because of George, then it's not the first time that a lesser named player caused a blockbuster deal to fail. Matt Geiger once refused to be traded on what supposed to be a 4 team deal way back in 2000 between Philadelphia, Detroit, Charlotte (now New Orleans), and the Los Angeles Lakers that should have sent Allen Iverson to the Pistons.

George is now getting the feel of the trade, Dallas fans have called him "selfish" and they want Kidd. The hiatus has caused New Jersey a single game. The Nets didn't field Kidd in in their recent game against the Toronto Raptors thinking that the deal would push through.

    Pagchur George oi.

no matter how much the other teams are upgrading their lineups..it doesnt matter. there is still the impt factor of team chemistry. that is why the spurs are not rattled by their competitors and that is why the spurs will still be nba champs by june. bet your balls on that. peace out!
Greg Popovich reacted on the Pau Gasol deal and that shows that he's indeed concerned about the sudden upgrade of the Lakers. The Spurs also added Damon Stoudamire recently.

boy, Devean George must be the most hated man in Dallas right now,
if i were him, i'd better not walk the streets alone the next few days.

Stackhouse said he's only part of the trade "to make the numbers work."
He indicated the Nets would buy out his contract, enabling him to re-sign with Dallas in a month.

I don't agree on this one. LeBron James belonged to the weaker Eastern Conference and Kobe to the cutthroat West, naturally, James had the easier division and it's not surprising to see him pile up numbers every night. What he did was compare both players individually and not really looking at their overall impact in the team. Even individually I'd still pick Kobe. James is the better passer, Kobe is the better scorer and that's 1-1 for them, but Kobe is the better defender, hands down.

If both players swapped teams before the Lakers acquired Pau Gasol and Derek Fisher, I don't the Lakers will be able to make it to the playoffs. LeBron is surrounded by better teammates compared to Bryant and that helped him look way better.

Kobe's tremendous edge for now is his experience.

He's still too young and maybe next season or the next, he'll become the real king of the NBA.

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Kobe Bryant was diagnosed with a torn ligament in his right pinkie finger Thursday and the Lakers All-Star has decided not to undergo surgery that could sideline him for six weeks.

The damage occurred when Bryant dislocated the finger at New Jersey on Feb. 5, and was aggravated in Wednesday night's game at Minnesota.

The team said Thursday that the damage was more extensive than first believed. There is a complete tear of the radial collateral ligament and avulsion fracture, in which a small bone fragment had been pulled off by a tendon.

Bryant was examined in Los Angeles by Dr. Steven Shin, a hand specialist who recommended surgery to repair the ligament.

"My current thinking is to give my finger some treatment and rest for a few days, and hope I can still continue to compete at a high level after that rest," Bryant said in statement.

"I would prefer to delay any surgical procedure until after our Lakers season, and this summer's Olympic Games. But this is an injury that myself and the Lakers medical staff will just have to continue to monitor on a day-to-day basis."

It was unclear if Bryant will play in Sunday's All-Star Game at New Orleans. But he will skip the 3-point shooting contest, with Dirk Nowitzki of Dallas replacing him.
